I'm surprised at how many folks seem happy to have Odemwingie on the bench. He lit up the second half of our season because make no mistake we were in the brown stuff in January. If it ain't broke don't fix it and all that... The same thing as happened to Jerome mate. The last time he was playing in Stoke first team shirt he was effectively keeping us out of the drop zone........but now he's shit. And no I'm not saying he's worth a place in our current squad just noting that some have a very short memory

It's nothing new.

If it ain't broke don't fix it and all that... You're absolutely right on the face of it Gods and it's a well used and sensible saying. However, it wouldn't sound half so sensible if it read "If it works, don't try to improve it" and, in essence those two do say the same thing. You're forever trying to improve in football however good you are and teams can always get better (they can of course also get worse). Odemwingie has been excellent since he came here and I think he'll play a big part in the coming season. However, SOME of that might be done from the bench IMO since he is a brilliant option to have available. I'm not advocating it for a second because he was excellent last season and he's had a very good World Cup too but, whichever way you look at it, I'm delighted to see the club bringing in quality players to widen our options. I suspect one of our biggest challenges this coming season will be to keep everyone happy but all decent clubs have that problem.

Thank heavens! Jerome gets a free pass with some because he runs around alot. His goal against Souuthampton was excellent, but that about it for the last 2 years.

Begovic Bardsley. Shawcross. Huth. Pieters Cameron. Nzonzi. Muniesa Odemwingie. Arnatouvic Diouf My alternative side, don't know where I fit Bojan in, what a great dilemma for MH! I often wonder why so many on here see Muniesa as a future midfielder, when all his coaches so far has seen him as a defender? Not being strong enough to be a PL central defender doesn't automatically make you a midfielder ...... My reasoning to give him a run in midfield would be simple, he is calm on the ball, rarely gives away possession, quick going forward and quick to help out in front of defence, and if I remember rightly it was a position he also played at for Barca sometimes! Dont know exactly what my starting eleven would be, was just weighing up the numerous options we now have available. Good luck MH at getting it right for us!

Anyone who believes anything they say wants their head testing. I'd believe premiumbetts or whatever he was called with his Aliadiere rumours before I believed anything put on by the bear pit guy

We'd have to get rid of Crouch and Adam to accomodate his wages but never say never.....

We certainly need to start shifting some players soon or there's no way we'd not breach FFP. My money would be on Crouch, Walters, Adam and Jerome.
Could you imagine this front 4
...Arno.....Bojan.....Yarmo...
................Diouf...................
Wed be a match for anyone however I think we'd struggle to keep everyone happy.

On a player of his stature you have to be prepared to spunk the wages, 8 million seems low however! How good a signing would he be o_0

Not sure we will be breaching FFP?
Ethers' and Kightly's wages for Bardsley and Sidwell. With Bojan and Diouf's on top of that?

This has the makings of a very special season. Wouldn't be Stoke if it didn't all turn to shit tho', whatever happens it's definitely going to be entertaining and it's been a long while since I've thought that before a season's started.
