Its a terrible thread because you're suggesting we have to spend bloody loads to improve. Well clearly that's garbage. Spent 8mil on Kenwyne Jones. 0 on Diouf. On your logic Jones was/is better than Diouf... Why am I even replying to this crap?! Idek. so does spending alot of money mean instant success on the pitch? look at spurs last season spent 100 million and had a bang average season. you should get a job at Liverpool they love spending big on overrated and overpriced players. read my 1st post again and then explain where i said "spending a lot of money means instant success" i believe i said something like, looking at our current transfer outlay it doesnt look like we are exactly going for it, in ur haste to have a pop at me u are fabricating facts, please dont,it makes u look silly

You're replying to me, I'm replying to you. It's called a conversation, something you obviously don't do in real life And it even pops up where it says "Profile" that you've replied. Christ, you're not even a good WUM/troll, it's all pretty hilarious!

Lets face it, if Pulis was getting the same results and playing the same football for the amount of money spent, it would be a total jizz fest on here.

So, would people rather us spunk £25mill+ for Crouch (nothing against Crouchy but £10 mill was a bit steep), Palacios and KJ and aim to finish on 40pts every season then?

Hughsey's deals last season were excellent. He inherited possibly the best squad in the bottom half of the Prem and built on it, getting us to play some proper football at the same time. His recent signings are a mixed bag and nobody knows whether or not they'll all come good. Bardsley is probably the safest bet. There's little doubt he's a more natural RB than Cameron and a better player than Wilko or Shotton. Sidwell might just be here to improve our cover for Nzonzi and Whelan. Either way, at his age he's short-term. Bojan and Diouf are gambles - gambles well worth taking with exciting potential. Tex - who knows? And all done on a shoe string - but after years of watching Stoke sell players like Stein, Sheron and Peschisolido, I'm not going to worry if the same owners who are now billionaires risk (and even lose) a few million a season. They'd feel it less than a gnat bite. Spot on!

, so what you mean is because we are not paying over inflated transfer fees for players we aren't "going for it", just a question were you around when pulis was here? i say that because while he was at the club he "went for it" alot, its funny how this more cautious signing cheaper foreign players, approach seems to work better i was indeed around when pulis was ere and long before that,,,,pulis transfer policy got us into the prem,an fa cup final and europe id say that was progress from the club he first came to,even the most passionate pulis hater must agree he left stoke in a lot better state than the stoke he came to.i dont think hughes will make much progress shopping in the bargain bin ,just my opinion, blinkered stoke fans think anyone being cynical concerning our transfer policy is on a wind up. yes because making progress without spending millions is a bad thing? spending a tonne on premier league based players clearly isn't the answer, but shopping abroad for much cheaper and much better players seems to work.

You know that spending ridiculous amounts of money doesn't guarantee quality? You only need to look at some of the shit we've overspent on to realise that. Let's wait for these guys to play before assuming they are average. these players we have signed were in the bargain bin for a reason mate, and im guessing it wasnt because they are above average .
