Wheelan has performed brilliantly during the second half of the season. Shawcross has performed brilliantly since day one. It has to be Shawcross! Credit also to Steven Nzonzi and Mark Wilson. I feared the worst when Huth was injured but Wilson has delivered.

Pirlo for me, whoops sorry I meant Glen Whelan of course. Can't believe the transformation under Hughes, he's had a great season and due to his continuing improvement he gets my vote.

Could somebody please restore karma to the board and vote for Bob Huth......... before he finds out You make a good point; Robert must think we forget quickly, especially being a former player of the season. It's a fact that when he was playing at the start of the season, Stoke were not scoring many but neither were they conceding many either, with either clean sheets or only conceding the odd goal. After he got injured the defence became decidedly leaky. I've used my vote for Glenn Whelan.

I've been his biggest critic in the past, but this season he has been immense, Whelan for me.

I respect what whelan produced this year, and Ryan was better than ever. But, arnautovic gets my vote. He made our new style work and was a joy to watch. Without him, no way we reach 9th: player of the year.

I respect what whelan produced this year, and Ryan was better than ever. But, arnautovic gets my vote. He made our new style work and was a joy to watch. Without him, no way we reach 9th: player of the year. I agree Arni has become Stoke's most exciting player and I can't wait to see what he does next season. But IMO Stoke have achieved 9th place because of a number of factors, most notably a more adventurous style, seeking to score goals. MH has liberated Adam, N'Zonzi, and the full-backs. He has injected pace with Wingie and Assaidi, which has lead more goals and better results. Meanwhile Bego, Ryan, and Crouch have played their usual dependable and in the case of the first two brilliant roles. Wilson has had to learn a new role, replacing Huth and while he was poor to start with he has improved his game to a very creditable level by the last three months, when Stoke's defence returned to its normal soundness, apart from the game at Chelsea. The most improved player though IMO has been Whelan. He has done his job brilliantly in the second half of the season, supporting those playing in front and behind him, allowing the likes of N'Zonzi, Adam, and Ireland to concentrate on attack while he covers for them. Whelan epitomises the change in style, quality of play, improvement in possession and is the main individual player reason Stoke have moved up the table.

There appears to have suddenly been a 20 vote turnaround to take Ryan into the lead.
