Still 10th place in the bag due to a superior goal difference.

It doesn't change anything.
A win still means we'll overtake Newcastle as they won't get anything from Anfield.
3 points please Stoke.

It's happening. A palace 7-0 romp is on the cards while West Brom sneak a 1-0 win.

What do we win for finishing 10th?

Finishing 10th is a huge achievement, which everyone can feel proud of, so pride is what we win.

Standard Oatcake thread. We never do learn. I've lost count of how many 'let's all laugh at Arsenal' threads have ended in tears when they've either come back from 4 down or sneaked late equalisers or winners, but at 3-0 with 10 minutes to go, I'd have probably lost every penny I had if someone had offered me a bet on where the points were headed in this one.

Seriously, why are we not taking an easy 1-0 win against Brazil with a comedy goal thrown in for good measure as a given?

What do we win for finishing 10th? We get to appear on the first page of the table on Match of the Day or the Football pages on the BBC red button (plus a lttle matter of around £3m in prize money) It also would mean that Mark Hughes has led 4 different teams to top half finishes which in the modern era is not something to be sniffed at. Having watched Stoke since 1961 it would also only be the 5th time we have achieved a top 10 finish in the top flight im my lifetime.

Palace will probably win at Fulham next Sunday putting them level on points with us, so even if the unthinkable happens and we lose at The Hawthorns there would need to be a EIGHT goal swing for us to be overtaken.
Rest easy my friends, it aint gonna happen.

Rest easy my friends, it aint gonna happen. It had better not happen! Each place is worth about £3 million extra. Finish 9th if Newcastle lose and we win and it is worth £6 million more than finishing 11th if we let Palace overturn the goal difference. £6 million is probably more than Assaidi will cost!

Forget palace and Newcastle, we need at least a point to secure 10th. No we don't - even if we lose we only need to make sure that Palace don't overturn a 7 goal difference in our favour. Actually it is an 8 goal difference really because we have scored so many goals more than them.

OK we can lose and retain 10th, I meant that one point would make it a certainty A bonus would be to overhaul Newcastle
