For me, Shawcross was always going to win, absolutely incredible all season and the thought of him ever leaving actually scares me, however Whelan is up there. He's kept the whole thing together in midfield. When N'Zonzi has fell short, Whelan has thrived. At 30, we've got at least another 2 or 3 years left in him.
To think most of this forum wanted him out at the end of last season. Has there ever been a bigger transformation?

Been outstanding in midfield this year and consistent, in my opinion best midfielder of the season easily. For me he comes second though, above Asmir but second best to our Ryan. I think Ryan has been outstanding all season and proven the myth about him only looking good alongside Huth or being the weaker link of the pair totally wrong. He is not world class and I can admit to that (when I take my Stoke tinted glasses off anyway) but given the options we have and what we will send to Brazil I think that it would be a travesty if he did not go.
Anyway, well done Glen you have been great this season and now we no longer have Delap and Fuller is one of the few remaining players who were with us during our promotion year and he is still here and still making the first team week in week out. Credit to you Sir.

He is playing football that I never thought he was capable of and I wouldn't be concerned at all if we started next season with him in our midfield. There is no way I ever thought I would be saying that about our Glen, but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up,he's been superb this season. I agree, Sid. There are a lot of players looking very much better than last season and Glen is the best example of this. I think we seem to have more time on the ball and this is helping. Glen has been excellent lately and I have stood back in amazement.
