Yet another thread reduced to petty schoolgirl bickering. It really is wank on here at times.

Very happy. Earned the right for a couple of seasons' team building. I also like how he has respected the previous achievements and talked in terms of building in what was already here. He seems to have evolved as a manager and we are doing well by it.

Not really. The more Pulis tried to push us on, the worse we became. We could've easily gone down in his last season with us and he showed no sign of trying to change things. The shit part is saying he was taking us down, it wasn't going to happen and wasn't the reason it was time for him to go. How can you say it wasn't going to happen? Based on the season before he was sacked we were playing terrible football in terms of how it looked and the results it produced. Pulis was too stubborn to change anything at the time and I don't see why he would've suddenly decided to change anything. I know the official reason was that 'the club wanted to go in a different direction' etc. But if Pulis was producing decent results whilst playing his terrible style of football I very much doubt he'd have been sacked. He had stopped producing results and showed no sign of changing things.

Pulis - spends £100million and takes us backwards = incredible job. Hughes - spends nowt in comparison, has us playing some football and looking like surpassing our best ever points total and a top 10 finish = decent job.
The mind of a rimmer.

Very happy. Thanks for bringing this up, we don't get the chance to bicker on here very often.
You're close to Pulis Stafford, any idea when Wankstain Day is next season or do we wait for the fixtures to come out?

He's done a brilliant job and we're on course to break all kind of Premier League records that we have.
Couldn't be happier.

Feck it. I gave him 9/10 in my earlier post but I'm giving him the extra point for pissing off Stafford Stokie. So its a big 10/10 from me.

Compared to what we could reasonably have expected on the day he took over, it'd be churlish not to give him at least 9/10.
We're pressed firmly against our glass ceiling - top half AND playing pretty easy-on-the-eye football. Pretty much as good as it gets for a small-market Premier League team in 2014!

I can't see how anyone who genuinely supports Stoke could be anything other than happy with how Hughes has done so far.

+1 more When MH took over I said that my expectation (hope?) was that we would finish in a similar position as previous seasons, with similar points, but more goals for/against and having seen better football. Granted my ambitions were not high (partly due to having some reservations about the appointment) so I have to say that our new manager has exceeded my expectations. I can also say that March and April (so far) have been VERY good, so with a few more points I would be looking at 9/10 or 10/10 come the end of this season. Now that is NOT something I really expected to be able to say! p.s. I still think fondly of TP and what he achieved at this club, and I am pleased for him concerning what he has done at Palace...I just don't want them to finish above us!!

I was quite apprehensive at first, but I'm pleased to have had my opinion completely turned around about the chap. The players have taken to the 'new' style well, perhaps after a shaky start though. He's proved that we have indeed got footballers in the team. It's no longer a chore to watch them play, like it was fast becoming with the previous incumbent. To answer the OP, yes I'm happy with him.

Because it was a late game, we were actually in the bottom three after the 3pm games before we played Man Utd. I was genuinely worried then. It's been pretty good since then - both playing good football for wins and grinding out results when we haven't been at the races.
One couldn't have asked for too much more. I'm not a complete fan of Hughes, but he's done the job. I hope he can push forward over the next couple of seasons.
Happy? Yes - certainly not unhappy.

Sunderland was an early game and our game v Man Utd was 3pm It was the Sunderland result that took us into the bottom 3 for about 2 hours You could argue had the games all kicked off at 3pm we would never of dropped into bottom 3 as that win took us up to about 12th ?

Like many others here, I was worried initially, however, given the performances after this "settling in" period ( particularly since the new year ) I am very happy with the new style of play we are seeing on the pitch. The summer transfer window should be interesting, hopefully the manager will continue to spend wisely ( although we will need to pay enough to get in some additional quality ) whilst trying to get in players that he thinks will strengthen us for next season. Well done Mark Hughes!!

Even if Stoke lose the remaining matches MH gets 9/10 from me, for the enjoyment, pride, and even excitement he has given me this season after 2 seasons of doubt, worry, and disappointments. If we match or beat previous Premier league statistics, he obviously gets 10/10.

Although nothing can match the nail-biting excitement of the first season in the premiership or the euphoria of cup final season for me this is the season when we have come-of age as a premiership club. Even when we have had poor results and leaked a few goals I have felt we have competed as equals this season not sort of hung on in there as gritty underdogs. The run since February has been glorious and I think we have the best basis for building for the next season we have had yet.
Am I happy ? - errr you bet I am !!!!
