There is some seriously small minded people on this thread now. I know people who wont go to the Britt because its so bloody cold on a winters day with the wind whipping through it. The general matchday experience is awful at Stoke outside of what happens on the pitch - Traffic jams coming and going - No decent pub for a pint before or after the game - Freezing cold for most of the season due to the open corners Also people have fallen on hard times and cant afford to go every game. We need to be positive, invest some money, improve the all-round matchday (which is no where near as good as when it was at the Victoria Ground), and I bet an extra 2,000 to 3,000 supporters would return. I bet they wouldn't.

I don't know why filling the corner isn't an issue.
For games we know we won't sell out (lower end prem teams) just offer more reduced ticket pricing or better offer by 2 games for £25 etc Christ even offer more schools free tickets to get the next generation in there are loads of different things the club could do to shift tickets.
Fill it in already, in fact fill em both!

i dont think season tkt holders would be impressed with the 2 for £25 offer duck,i dont think lowering the price of a tkt is an option ,the club has froze prices since we were promoted, they cant do much more for us AND we still cant fill the stadium.

They've done loads of offers since we've been in the prem on odd games just two or three weeks ago st holders could purchase an additional ticket for £15, Hull was it? These are the type of offers that increase ticket sales and would make no difference to the ST holder if I'm honest as a ST holder once I've purchased my ticket at a fairly reasonable price I couldn't give a shit about what the club chooses to do with match day ticket prices, it's better than looking at empty seats. My ST works out at £18 a match. As long as the offers throughout the season don't average out to less than £18 per game - I'm happy.
In fact a price structure of £20 per game, regardless of opposition, I would be happy with. Won't happen because SCFC like the income that 3000 x away fans at £40 a pop for the big clubs provides.
How about Category A* = £40 (or an offer for 'club members' buy an A* ticket - get a B ticket for £10 Category A = £25 Category B = £20
Presuming 6 x A* matches, 7 x A matches and 6 x B matches, attending all matches whilst taking advantage of the (buy an A* get a B for £10 offer for all applicable games) would cost £475 - an average of £25 per match.
You could argue that some people might just ignore the mid price games and pay £300 to see 12 matches a season, incl all the A* matches (av per game £25) - Still more than I would be paying, plus I want to attend all the matches!
The point is - as long as a season card remains the best value - I don't care about matchday offers.

I feel that my ST is better value (due to a better atmosphere/experience) if the Brit is full.

Why did we build a 28K stadium when we were getting 15K in the Championship?
I'd imagine that would have been a calculation based on the crowds we'd historically achieved in the past when we'd been in the top division. In other words 28k would have been our anticipated ceiling. As it stands, I think they got it about right - just about the only thing they did get right in those days. Fortunately they got it wrong. Throughout the 70's (our most scuccessful decade)we did not top 27,000 average gates. In 1974-5 when winning the last 3 games would have seen us Champions we only averaged 26,961. That was far and away our best average for many years. If we only use historic figures to base the capacity of our ground on then we would most sensibly have a 20,000 seats. If adding to the capacity of your ground is so stupid, it seems strange that so many very successful clubs waste money doing it.

How about, just for a laugh, & forgetting the 'there's not the demand' argument, we simply finish our half-baked, half-arsed, unfinished stadium. Just a thought?

Spot on mate our ground is an absolute embarrassment it's design or lack of ruins a good portion of games every season with the swirling wind creating an absolute farce but apparently the ridiculous playing conditions give us an advantage, what bollocks!! Never mind whether we would fill the scoreboard corner, the Britannia is not fit for purpose what about the fans/customer's comfort, Stoke fans have been treated like second class citizens for too long what other kind of business would dare to treat it's customer's with such utter contempt expecting them to accept an inferior product due to the defective nature of their premises.

There was a few games those seasons with high 30k attendees and a couple of 40k It was mostly cash on the turnstiles and the figures were subjected to modulation, allegedly remember being in the Boothen and it was rammed including the gang ways and then they would say there was only 26k there fill one of the corners in and have it as cash on the day for locals/Stokies with ID

I remember a number of games at the Vic where the gate appeared to have been well and truly modulated. Didn't we play Newcastle on a Boxing Day once and there were very few empty spaces but a lot of loud sniggering when a crowd of 14,000 was announced over the tannoy.

The TV cameras point away from the most impressive stand. It's an embarrassment, open corners. Pegs us as amateur and unambitous. It's all about TV and perception these days. If the club stubbornly and stupidly refuse to fill in the corners then at least move the cameras to point at the main stand.

There is a camera position right above me in block 30 that they use to point directly at the dug out for the game and that is all it does. Having said that they have only used it about 3 times this season.

Having said that they have only used it about 3 times this season. Exactly. Most clubs have a token camera pointing at the dug outs, but the wide shots need to capture the most impressive parts of the ground. Sometimes it feels like the away supporters get more TV time. Here in Wollongong it's twice as embarrassing as one side of our stadium is open to the sea, literally on the beach, and the cameras sit safely in the brand new $40m stand opposite!! bmplusg.com.au/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/win.jpg

Think that corner would only add about 2500 I think. Surely that's achievable with imagination. ahh, but how many safe standing places Or have I got on that standing bandwagon again?!

I'll repeat. A fish will only grow as big as the fish tank. I disagree. I've had loads of Goldfish in the past and none of them grew to the size of their respective tanks You have to feed them though Sid!

We are just about to finish a season where we sold the record amount of unsold season tickets in the top flight! What can't some of you people understand? As soon as the demand picks up, more seats will be made available. Thats it, no stubbornness, lack of foresight or anything else. It would be lovely to see the corners filled, as long as the seats are filled...

Next season I think is a huge one for us. If we carry on this improved football and have a good cup run then demand for tickets will be high, that is when we will look to expand. I think if alls looking good by Xmas we could well see plans put in place for the end of next season
