I agree - some great runs and got himself in to some great attacking positions.
Tough luck when 1 v 1 with Marshall
Maybe his inclusion in the squad today instead of Guidetti is a way of showing he would be a welcome addition here.

Should have scored, still not convinced by him tbh, but did do well when he came on.

Very impressed again today; a real bag of tricks. Good to have a player with his ability on the bench. BUT failed to take his chance and that's the difference between the good and the great players.

Yes he did well when he came on but is he only an impact sub?

We defo need another winger and a pool of Arno, Odim, Assaidi and possibly Walters would be a good one. If we can get him for about 3m I'd take him. He offers us something different we just need to make sure hes over his injury properly.

Did really well as did Walters. I'd love to see Assaidi and Arnautovic on the wings with Odemwingie and Crouch up front.

Should have scored, still not convinced by him tbh, but did do well when he came on. First time he's played in month of sundays and he looked the most dangerous Stoke player the whole game !

Saha came on for them on there wing and assy for us and over all assy in my books made the greater impact in the game and looked the better threat

Agree - needs to regain his match fitness and he is challenging for a place in the starting 11 To be fair MH has been selecting players who are playing well

A timely reminder of what Assaidi can do today.
He might only ever be an impact sub and back up to Arnie, but you often feel that there's a lot more to come from him, and we might really regret missing our chance to sign him if we look elsewhere.

Would love us to get him for less than 4mil. Not sure Liverpool would take that though.

Still prefer Saha, with the added benefit that he's English and we need to be mindful of the rules on home players. Assaidi, for me, will never be anything other than a squad player and we've got more than our fair share of those.

Looked totally unconvincing to me.
Has no pace nor skill and can't cross the ball to save his life.
Missed the worst open goal of the season for us.
I'm sure we can find better.

He adds a lot of energy and I enjoy that, but he has made it known his goal is to play for Liverpool. I dont want to spend money on a guy who would look to go somewhere every trade window.
But if he embraces the team as Ireland did, he'd be a great asset.

Didn't he say recently that he probably isn't going to go back to Liverpool and that he'd like to sign for us. He'd be a good pick up and certainly one to add to a decent squad

I think Assadi fits in well with our set up. We're not so big that we can regard him as not good enough for us. All these folks turning their noses up at him could perhaps enlighten me on who is out there that 1) we could afford who is better 2) is proven in the PL 3) would jump at the chance to join Stoke?

Not often I agree with Mr nononsense, but if Assaidi had been match fit he would have more than likely scored with that chance. He took a few games to get up to speed at the start of the season and today must have been like more like pre season with only a week's training under his belt.

he's a danger to any team he plays against, and we always look a more potent side when he's on the pitch.
