That Saucedo for them did look a good player though! We should tap him up!

Quite a decent match that! Been good watching the youth team play and the stream hit over 1000 viewers with only a few americans in there..Would be a good idea to stream Stoke youth games on Youtube to be honest. Yes, I enjoyed that. I suppose it is the first major(ish) trophy (certainly the first overseas trophy) for the new Academy since it was awarded first class status.

That Saucedo for them did look a good player though! We should tap him up! That has to be one of the benefits of this sort of tournament. In the previous game we played Flamengo whose senior team play in the Maracana in Rio. The sort of contacts that coaches can make and the chance to see top youngsters from other countries has to be a potential benefit to the club in the long term. And, of course, it does raise the profile of Stoke City in the USA and (in this instance) in Brazil and Mexico.

Quite like the look of Ollie Shenton myself.
Real steady player, good head on his shoulders.

Disappointed with the standard but great to be the first overseas team to win this tournament

The standard wasn't the best but I don't think it's going to be considering we travelled there this time last week, it's a 6 hour time difference, we played 5 games in 7 days and thanks to the great way our club is run we took 2 overage players so had 3 subs. 1 a 'keeper and 1 injured.

Do we know why we took overage players, Bayern? Was the trip, perhaps, organised by the same person who failed to check if V12 would offer an interest free 4 instalment option for season tickets?

Great win for the boys, looks like they were knackered near the end. A parade on the pitch at the spuds game maybe?

Looked like he could play a pass and scored the most in the tournament! Us being in tournaments over there is great as there is always South/North American talent coming through and I'm sure they would like an early ticket to the prem!

I presume that, as this was an Adidas tournament, we won't get invited again. Did every team in the tournament come from a club using Adidas kit?

I have no idea but can only assume whoever does the admin for the academy fucked up.

That could be embarrassing for Adidas if Forny is correct (and he usually is).

I'm sure the Yanks will look forward to a showdown between the good ol' Adidas boys and the pinko commie Warriors next year.

I was quite impressed with how we rallied second half, especially given how knackered we looked end of the first half!

I am all for local talent breaking through, but they obviously have to show a great amount of potential, which Ngoy allegedly has

Congratulations to the lads on this excellent win. Whilst the stream I watched the match on was very poor quality and I missed most of the penalty action, it was great stuff seeing the club win a not insignificant trophy. Bodes well for the future.

What stream were you watching - I thought the u-tube stream was excellent. Although I do have about 35 meg so videos tend to run smoothly.

As someone said earlier on the thread, it is a pity the club don't stream academy games as a regular thing.
