Ay up chugga, if yer stuck for somewhere stay in oz, ave you heard of couch surfing? Ive heard it called sofa surfing but I spose we'd cal it settee surfing one o me son's mates had a couple of polish settee surfers staying last summer, they were classically trained musicians and were into dubstep and ska and stuff. Here's a link: www.couchsurfing.org/Good luck on yer travels mate I thought I was going to find a photo-shopped picture of a Bondi surfer on a couch in the ocean instead of his board.

Chugga, what do you think you will miss most about Stoke? Aside from the obvious friends and family, i really miss the ability to go into any boozer or office or shop and talk to people about Stoke City. so for me its 1) SCFC related talk with any random 2) Sentinel and Green Un 3) Oatcakes 4) Wrights Pies 5) Country Pubs with canals. Im guessing everyone talking with a Stoke accent would be high on your list? Ow Doo, Dont post on here much but defo all the above - plus guest beers at Withers, The annual Beer Festival at Stoke Town Hall (anyone remember the Heinz Muller Umpah Band), Radio Stoke Sports on Satdee aftnoon and PMT buses. Haven't been back to Stoke since cup final (most expensive trip ever but a great time all the same) - just wish someone would hurry up and invent Tardis for real to cut out the energy sapping 24hr flights. BTW mar lady's managed to fine tune the recipe for Oatcakes if any expats fancy knocking up a dozen. Always go down a treat with my bacon brekky on Sunday. Does everyone realise its only us Stokies that include melted cheese on our bacon fry up. Or is it just may? HW

There has defo been a fall out between Chugga and chig. After the words they have exchanged, often heated, the only chance for a patch up is an intervention by Tina brass and "Marra bone and all that."

Marrer, if your from Leek, did you know Pownells sweet shop on Grove Street? No did don't Stan. I was born in Leek but lived in Werrington all my life. Used to do a lot of fishing and some of my early trips were to Knypersely reservoir and Cauldon Canal at Cheddleton. I often pass through Leek on visits back there to get up to a few pubs near Tittesworth Reservoir. I just love that part of the world. Do you know the Yew Tree at Cauldon Lowe? Got to be the best place on earth. Saw yr Bro the other day. He lent me his clubs for the oatcake charity golf day.

Daftest game in the world. Now if he was to get some fishing gear........... well now you're talking. I'd rather have a carp sucking on my worm anyday. You know what they say, happiness is a rod in your hand.

Well Chugga, it seems we have a Ukraine and Russia-esque situation with us here. I think we should have a peace plan as suggested by stanground. I'll go and have my amber nectar, and you go play in the A-League. But you still haven't answered the question of will you be updating your progress on here or not?

We'll see if Cider fits into Chugga's ozzie stereotype. I prefer Carlsberg for a Lager, if I have one.

Here's how I do mine
1-1/2 – cups warm water 250ml – Semi Skimmed milk (warm) 1-1/4 – cups oat flour 1 – cups whole wheat flour 1 – teaspoon sugar Half a teaspoon salt Half of a 7mg envelope dry active yeast
Mix the yeast and sugar together, add a small amount of warm water and mix until dispersed.
Place the warm water and warm milk into a large bowl. Stir in a mixture of sugar and yeast. Stand for 5 minutes.
Mix the oat flour and whole wheat flour together.
Mix together mixture of oat flour and whole wheat flour with mixture of milk, water, sugar and yeast, and add salt.
Cover and stand for 1 hour.
Heat a large frying pan over medium hot heat, grease slightly. Spoon in mixture (Approx ¾ of a ladle) and wait until all the moisture has dried on surface, and the underneath has browned to perfection. Flip and perfect the other side.
Place on mesh grill to cool.

This is simply the best thread. It meanders like water you tip from a bucket, finding the easiest route, moving this way, then that, always finally coming back to the main topic which is Has Chugga got a settee? And then we are off again on pubs, cider, oatcakes.
Bloody marvellous!

Conner see what cakes have do with football me sen Matey, if 'oatcakes' have nowt to do with football, what are you doing on the oatcake talking about football. I bet you've eaten a few, come on Chugga, admit it. It's not all protein powder and fresh veggies you are feasting on is it? Looking forward to seeing you on the telly over here as the new season gets going. Cheers

Conner see what cakes have do with football me sen Chugga, while many others have accused you of being fraudulent and only on here as a wind up, I have stood by you, believed in your ability and intentions to come to ozzie land and even offered you my settee. But for you to call Oatcakes 'cakes' and question their relationship with Stoke City is all a bit to 'troll like' for me. Come clean Chugga, what are you playing at?

Hey Marrer, how the hell did you end up in Bathurst

Hey Marrer, how the hell did you end up in Bathurst Did agriculture at Nottingham, came over here and worked in commercial beekeeping (seriously - it's still a hobby) Had 15 years in Sydney but got fed up with the city and hankered back after the country. My wife comes from up near Tamworth (NSW, not Staffs) and we both wanted to get back to the country. Can't really live in a village like back home and commute to Stoke, Brum, Manchester or wherever works takes you because as you know it's too capital city - centric here. Bathurst is the closest truly rural town to Sydney over the mountains and is 2 1/2 hours on a good run. So put the house on the market, it sold in 3 weeks, then upped and left for Bathurst. At the same time, I rent a room in a shared place in Sydney so don't get to see the family Monday to Friday. Now on 35 acres, getting a few cattle, got the bees going again, (won 1st for my honey in the Royal Bathurst show), got the chickens going (more eggs than I know what to do with) and just getting a sign done for the gate; going to call the place 'Dovedale' after many happy times around Ilam as a kid. I've removed the ozzie flag that flew from a flag pole in the front garden and bought a England flag from a place in Stoke on my last trip. All I need now is a stoke flag but not sure where to get one from. Got the Foxtel going last year because I could stand it no more and wanted to get the games live. So there it is - not quite living in Werrington, fishing at Stanley Pool and going to the Black Lion in Consall Forge or the Yew Tree at Cauldon Low but I am happier living there than I've been in years.
