When the likes of Rooney is on 300k pw (reportedly) let's see what ticket prices are then. Let see how much the shit put their season tickets up by and then see how much fc United crowds go up. Scandalous wages for an overhyped player.

Yes, Villa will be about £28. Over the '£20 cap' and on the TV (but if you know where to go, every game is) - lucky to get 1,000 then?

Sadly mate i reckon so.Also have we ever taken many to Villa?Always remember running back in[was on my way out with many others] when Shawcross scored there a few years back and then for the mental that followed Whelan's equaliser.

The longer fans in the UK regard £37 as 'pretty cheap' the longer clubs will continue to fleece the fans week in week out. Fact is the majority of folk will be sat in the warmth of their local boozer sinking several pints next Saturday and taking plenty of change home from their £ 37. I know, why don't team owners just put on free transportation to home AND away matches, £5 tickets, £1 pies, 50p beer and see how long the teams stay in business. So HTF do the Germans do it then? www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/revealed-bayern-munich-season-ticket-1752700£104 for a season ticket at Bayern Munich. ...and £13 for a match day ticket which includes free public transport. ...and they're the best in Europe. ...and they don't have a rich owner bankrolling them. ...and that's in a much wealthier country where you could argue they could afford more. When they started the Premier League they used as one of their arguments as that the extra money would reduce ticket prices. Lies.

Do you really thi k that with another huge TV money increase incoming, clubs would even notice it? I think I read somewhere that if the Premiership clubs had used just the extra income from the Sky deal from the increase for this season they could have dropped the match day ticket cost to under £20. The money is there - it's just the will to keep football affordable rather than piss it away on agents and ridiculous wages for players.

If it were up to me I'd be imposing a worldwide maximum wage, a maximum transfer fee and a maximum ticket price. A cost of more than £10 a ticket is barking and with a maximum fee of £1,000, a maximum £52,000 p/a wage and a list of agents who take a set fee for every transfer regarding of extras would solve a lot of problems.

Way too much common sense there. I remember when they were talking about the TV deals coming through in the 90s, they said there'd soon be no need for people to pay to get into matches. Only greed has stopped that happening.

Problem is, it is like a spiral effect.
The matches got sterile and boring, so fans stopped going, thus making the matches more sterile and boring, thus more fans stopped going etc....
I'm not sure we can ever get it back. I think £10 entry and unreserved seating might give us a chance. Get the numbers up, the atmosphere improves, fans want to travel again.
This is also impacting our home atmosphere as we have no songs. Songs normally start away from home, in the pubs etc, and cascade into the 2-3000 fans inside the grouond and eventually make their way back to the Brit.

I've just but me and my lad tickets for Man City and there is only a handful left so our 1700 allocation will be sold out come Saturday.
My lad has just turned 6 and it is 23 quid for him so 60 quid for the 2 of us to watch our beloved Stoke City get thumped.
That doesn't include travel costs, sweets, lunch and tea at the world buffet which he only likes coz he can go up and help himself to whatever food he wants.
At least a 100 quid day out for a dad and his 6 year old for a game we don't really have a hope in hell of winning.
If you want to know why away attendances are falling, look no further!

If i understand this logic, most football team owners are in it just for laughs. All of the money they spend, they are supposed to give it all back and not make any money for themselves then ?? However, one of the most ridiculous things in any business in general is the teams having to pay the players agents. That's like going down to Tesco and them paying you to buy a loaf of their bread ! If players want big salaries, let them pay their own bloody agent fees.

That is exactly where we are heading pre-match. Bit different from a day on the lash with the lads but I'm looking forward to a day with my boy! :-) He'll be heartbroken when we lose though!

Great that we've nearly shifted all of our tickets for Saturday, that's a fine effort all things considered. I'm looking forward to it and I've every faith we'll end our drought and finally nick a goal there in the league! I'm hoping to do at least half of our last six away games, booked up for Man City and Norwich and hoping to do Cardiff and West Brom as well. Considering the costs involved in away games these days and the fact we've won something like 4 out of our last 40 odd away games in the league, I think our away followings are holding up very well.
