I know someone who hardly goes a match but is making this away day just because it's Pulis WAFC.

Fuck me, I've seen it all now. That banner is the gayest thing I've ever seen. Are you really taking that to the match with you?
The things some people will do to get their faces on the telly.

I'll tell you how it's fucking disrespectful. Our crowd barely manage a murmur at home these days, never mind a "Mark Hughes Barmy Army" , but for Pulis who is now the manager of a another team they are making fucking banners for him and planning a fucking jizzfest on his behalf. Piss poor in my opinion. A round of applause as he comes on should suffice, then get your Mark Hughes banners out and get behind your clubs manager. H I believe that its because the new influx of ssn prem boyz dont know fuck all of our chants and are riding the wave... The lads have given us reason to chant. 2-0 down vs Liverpool... Not the managers fault it's the fans imo tbh. Different times those championship days you generally felt the delilah gave em, hope, guille and spirit. Ive noticed a different sort of stoke fan and it's a thing that always happens when a side climbs up the table more consistently. With respect, that is utter gash. The novelty wore off for even the most loyal fans. Get over it.

Is someone making a banner thanking TP for his team selection in Valencia ? Brilliant. Of course not,he did no wrong remember after telling everyone to save up and get out to Valencia!

This is the bestest banner ever! Looks clarsey as fuck. Banner manufacturers please knock up more stuff akin to this. Also a note to the Crystal Palace attending banner men, historically banner men are often the first to be killed on the battlefield. Let that be a warning..

I saw the thread title and thought we were linked with a new player from davesviews - turns green when angry, wears a cap and looks like roland rat.
Considering the op has 'europa league' as the avatar, is he asking TP for his Valencia money back on flip side?

Also a note to the Crystal Palace attending banner men, historically banner men are often the first to be killed on the battlefield. Let that be a warning.. The banner men were also incredibly brave given the fact that they were usually unarmed. Or stupid. Depending on your point of view. Talking of banner men or things that sound like banner men, do you remember Phil Bonnyman who we signed from Grimsby? He was proper shit.

Peter Thorne left us to join Cardiff (who at the time were one of our main rivals) for more money. Scored a hatrick past us at the Brit and all the Stoke fans applauded. There were no "fisti-cuffs" that day.

So there can be no degrees of revelling in your past? If you've ever sang the name or applauded a former player you're a hypocrite for thinking that bringing big fuck-off I love you banners to the new place of work of the (generally excellent) former manager is a bit OTT? Come off it, it's not a one or the other situation and you know it. I'm going to use that dirtiest of words on here again, way filthier than clartdanglets or shitpipe. Context. The context of the Fulham sing-song was revelling in the club's history over decades, singing about all kinds of players - that was, in general, about our pride history. This is hero worship for one man. One man who worked wonders for the club, but still, you seem to be suggesting that this swooning over him should take on festival proportions. If any other forgotten hero returned they get a good ovation and then attentions turn fully to the task at hand. Why shouldn't that be enough this weekend? Clartdanglets?

Amazing isn't it ...
... some people want to take a few banners to thank one of our most successful managers of recent times who spent nearly ten years at the club (and made one hell of a difference) and we have people on here moaning about it.
Only at Stoke!

Anyone remember Ian Allinson turning up around 87ish?
Don't worry if you don't - it was very brief and very shit.

I'm not surprised folks want to pay their respects. For people who don't remember the Waddington era then he is the only successful manager they have ever known. Gave us our pride back. Weren't Durban and Macari successful? Durban took a team headed for the old Division 3 and very quickly turned us into a midtable top division side. Macari took a club at it's lowest ebb in Division 3 and almost got us into the Premier League. Both massively restored our pride. Except Durban pissed off to Sunderland of his own volition the very moment they came knocking and left us high and dry to be relegated and gone from the big time for a quarter of a century. I'm much more kindly disposed to Macari and I think you are right to correct me there although there is still that word 'almost' but of course he never had the backing which Tone ultimately got.

I suspect 'Sparky' Hughes got a pretty good reception when he first returned to Manchester United. I don't think he'll be too fussed if Stoke fans wish to thank Pulis. He'd probably think less of us if we didn't.
Can't believe anyone has an issue with a banner to be honest, for me it's perfectly justified - and for me the Palace game now becomes one I want to win above many others, because the removal of Pulis was a ballsy decision and I want it to be proved correct.

I'm sure Pulis got enough of a send off from Mr Coates to make his living very comfortable for the rest of his life. Remember how use to steak and chips we had become!

I think its utterly disgusting that no-one is taking a Dave Kemp banner.
Bunch of ungrateful sods.
There'd better be some "I love Gerry Francis" T Shirts on sale outside Selhurst Park too, or we'll be the laughing stock of the football world for being so ungrateful and inconsiderate.
Perhaps we could get a tattooist to set up in a small tent on Park Road or Whitehorse Lane to give true Stoke Fans a lovely permanent reminder of the previous all conquering management team across their backs..........................

I think a simple 'Tony and his team' would suffice.
Mind you we all know they never exercised any decision making power as they were yes men and Tony was a power mad dictator.
So I don't know to be honest. Do we credit the backroom staff or not...?

Not only did he not get backing, he got positively shafted, having one of his best players sold from under him during a play off push while the team that ultimately beat us by a single goal over two legs went out and strengthened massively.

asked to do this!!! I was wondering if the "forever grateful" banner would be knocking around too... cracking effort. I can't understand why people wouldn't be grateful and respectful to a man who played a huge roll in getting us to this fine position we are in now. I was glad he went when he did, i want us to smash Palace but i'm also grateful and looking forward to showing my appreciation.
