We seem to keep chasing rainbows, unless this is cover for what we really want. Diouf, Olic, who next? Either that or we are making unrealistic offers to unrealistic targets. We need to sort out our transfer team, with or without pizzas. All part of moving forwards and becoming a regular top ten team. Coates has already intimated that we have drawn up our list of transfer targets. I am beginning to think unrealistic offers to unrealistic targets mantra has come into play and will probably surface itself throughout the summer. Always thought that one of the points of history was to learn from it, which we consistently fail to do. We have made a lot of progress in many areas except transfers. As you rightly say we have identified targets, let's hope they are realistic and we can get them early.

To me, this fella should be being chased by one of the teams being promoted next season, not us ! here he is 34, going on 35 scoring a few goals in the Bundesliga so that makes him maybe more attractive than he really is. Got a few seasons left in him. So a newly promoted team should go for him just for the experience and the couple of seasons they can get out of him while they survive ! We need someone much younger that we can keep a while and use a starter for 4-5 years !!

He's FINALLY re-signed at Wolfsburg"I am very happy that I now have clarity about my future and I will continue to play at VfL. We want to attack fully in the Bundesliga and in Europe in the coming season. It gives me an incredible amount of fun to be part of this team and my family feels very comfortable here" said the attacker.

At least that farce is now over.
I'd love us to pinch Diouf from under their noses.

I can't be the only one who really did not want him here ?
Old players who used to be good got QPR relegated and i really don't want Hughes to go in that direction again

I would have happily taken him but not massively arsed that he's chosen to stay there.

As usual with a lot of these deals - call Stoke, let everybody know that they will sign me unless......, sign for other club with better contract(or in this case stay with a longer one). Used again?

We seem to be developing a talent for being used as a stalking horse and it seems to have happened here too.

Who would have thought a player would do all that to enhance a new contract?
We are doing ok so we should be looking for long term prospects not short term fixes, even on a "free"

Seems like Olic has been using us for his own purposes so thankfully we can now move on to targets that are not just using Stoke as a way of bumping-up a contract offer from their existing clubs.

Does anyone think players like this enjoy taking the piss out of us or are we really that green in the face?

This whole transfer has been unusually open and honest from both sides.

Glad we missed out too. Would of been high wages, id like to see some youth in attack. We will need to spend money to survive in the long term- signing somebody with probably one year left is not what we need IMO. Could of been another Gudjohnson

That''ll not go down well at SCFC HQ.
With no intention to spend serious money on a "genuine" threat up front we'll be no doubt on the blower now to Diouff immediately.
