Bubbling under, awaiting the right time to surface, a single euphoric voice, strong and unified, ready to change things that were broken, in need of fixing.
No I'm not talking about Nelson Mandela's ANC and a reformed south Africa..
The 12th man was there all the time. Yesterday we were united, we were strong, we changed things.
Long may the 12th man stay.

Behave lads, I was preaching about our unity and you're ruining the moment. From where I was sitting it was plenty loud enough in the first half, just before half time.
Enjoy the moment.

You really believe that wezzer?. Why are you concentrating on the first half ? It was 1:1 which in itself was a fine achievement given the opposition

Now if you believe I'm gutted because we won then I give up.

No wezzer you should know me better than to say I'm gutted because stoke won.
I simply replied to a post without any animosity at all towards Hughes and then for some reason you start to give it the big un 'I can take a joke as much as the next man' but to then give it the Hughes factor this Hughes factor that in which a thread could then turn into a farce I find a bit strange from someone who usually takes a stand when other threads take a downward spiral.
That first half showing was extremely poor, no closing down, no winning the second ball no nothing. Second half the players inspired the crowd which in turn returned to its best.

Now I know when I've turned a thread into a farce but really wasn't my doing as one earlier poster implied that it was us both.
I think you'll see that on another thread I praised Hughes on what must have been a great half time talk.
Never ever have I been pissed off when stoke have won,
Well, not until yesterday I wasn't.
Winkythingy.

Again Taz, I don't recall you giving a shit how we played in any given half in the past if we ended up winning. Now, after one of the best results in the club's recent history, you want to focus on us being poor first half.
Why the change in attitude?

Some fans are being way over-critical of the first half performance. We were a team currently low on form and confidence up against a multi-talented, multi-million pound outfit who'd scored ten goals in three successive victories.
If we were as bad as some are making out in that first half then Chelsea, quite simply, would have been out of sight. The goal aside, how many hairy moments did we have in the first half? How many times was Asmir genuinely stretched?
People have been whining their backsides off all season about out lack of spirit and organisation but we showed plenty in the first half to keep Chelsea at bay.

I said before the game if we got anything Hughes would deserve massive credit.
To get the three points having been behind early against a side with class and high on confidence while low on confidence ourselves was bordering on miraculous IMO.
His half time chat, substitutions and overall approach suggests to me that we may well have the manager to take us to "the next level". Whatever that next level may be if it gives us a realistic chance of silverware that'll do me.

That first half was as shocking as anything served up in years. No closing down, no winning the second ball and that's without mentioning how many times the ball was given away when under no pressure whatsoever. Chelsea are a quality team that could take the ball of you in the blink of an eye without giving it to them on a plate which we did on numerous occasions. The goal that they scored came from a headed clearance when under no pressure which even that went straight to their player. No, that first half was as poor as I've seen in years and the atmosphere around the ground reflected that because it was like a morgue but in the second half the atmosphere was up their with the best it's ever been. The fortunate goal carried those players along with Hughes half time team talk into producing a second half performance that was also up there with the best I've seen.

I intimated that the atmosphere was suppressed until such time as it was unleashed; when the broken was fixed. I never said it was there all game but I'm sure it will be there for a few games now.

No closing down? What do you think world class players like Hazard, Mata and Torres would have done to us if that had been the case? We had one sorry moment in the first half when we didn't get close enough to Schurrle and we paid the price. Having said that, if Charlie Adam had been more professional and gone down with his injury we may have got away with that.
"As shocking as anything served up in years"? Don't be daft.
