Bear market for next few years? For this year probably yes, you can now short bitcoin on various exchanges including Binnance.com looking likely that this bear market could even go below $10k

Aim is to own at minimum 3 Eth, but targeting 5 eth. IMO it’s the beginning of the bear market I’ve been waiting for. Steady hand for the next 2-3 years and buying in on your own schedule has the chance to net people a bloody good profit.

I'll DCA into $Eth when it reaches somewhere around $800. How low do you see $BTC going? I think we'll hit around $14,500 at some point in the next year.

Depends for me on how bad the inevitable global recession gets and if the war in Ukr is still going on into next year. My worst case I see BTC on the $10,000 border. I think ETH at $800 is more than reasonable to predict. My worst case for ETH is $4-500 in which case I would crack open the party poppers and bubbly Crypto has never been through a pandemic, a war in Europe and a recession before so it’s going to be almighty test on those who HODL and those who pull out their investment. Going to be extremely interesting to watch.

I wouldn’t buy Crypto coins but I did buy a chunk of Coinbase (the exchange/platform) shares at $60.
Think government will regulate existing coins out of existence when they inevitably bring in their own digital currency and they will need platforms like Coinbase to help manage the infrastructure

I think I'm with you on this one mate. Something will come out of it but I'm not smart enough to predict what! I heard someone say: you know how I know crypto isn't money? No-one has to advertise money.

Another mental 24 hours in the sphere! ~$17,000 support holding at the moment but if we lose that I can see a wick down to my entry prices. Shame I've already blown my load and have no money left to enter with

Was gonna sell enough to cover original cost and ride out the profit but I’m going to continue to hold as I think they’ll breach 200

I was always worried that dabbling in coins themselves is volatile. This seems a better investment than the coins themselves, I think this will level the risk a bit more. So, this afternoon I added some of these shares to my SIPP investment. Gone up 3% in the past 5 hours! 🙂 Big crash expected tomorrow!

Your strategy makes more sense to me than picking coins, but how do you get a feeling for numbers like 200? Loads of people tell me stuff like that and I never understand where they get the numbers from!

Loads of people tell me stuff like that and I never understand where they get the numbers from! Far from an expert and although I’ve made a good wedge from stocks but also had some dogs. I bought Pfizer during Covid and sold at a modest profit but invested all the proceeds into Coinbase. I’m a contrarian investor and when I see large drops I spend some time looking at both the fundamentals and the future possibilities for the sector. Coinbase infastructure is exactly the sort of “central bank” governments will need for future digital currencies and now that they have improved KYC processes I see them as more “government friendly”. I’m guessing/hoping that this will propel the company’s valuation. I’ve also sunk increasing large sums into Legal & General which pays 8-9% dividend so Coinbase is probably the riskiest stock in my portfolio

I feel too clueless to do anything complicated, investing is really an area I know I'm pretty dumb at. Been learning a lot but it still feels like too little. Your plan makes sense to me but I wouldn't be comfortable coming up with my own. And merry Christmas, here's hoping your plan pays off in 2024! 🤞

Check out xrp now it’s legally not a security in the usa A true sleeping giant What does all this mean? I think that means the SEC can't make new rules? But the headlines were confusing and I can't be arsed to read the actual ruling. If it's a lower court then you'd be gambling that the appelates won't overturn it?

The judge ruled that retail sales of xrp weren’t and never can be securities. Historical Otc sales may still be under scrutiny. The sec lost an appeal in October. The sec, as usual, embarrassed themselves in court and lost virtually every round, contradicting and tripping themselves up at every turn. Fortunately ripple labs had enough money to fight them. Unlike plenty who couldn’t afford justice. Usa usa, etc 😎

I think as long as its money you can do without, and you don't invest a large percentage of your savings, and look at it long-term, you wont go too far wrong.
I noticed the dip, but I thought, well I'm in for the long haul, so I'll just leave it. I just think that this area of business/investment will be the future someday. Its a matter of how long, and will this company be run well and last long enough to benefit.

Anyone had any since 2013?
I can remember having an argument with a friend at uni around 2012/13 about how bitcoin simply wouldn’t catch on.
How wrong was I!
He invested then. I didn’t….

My friend at university told me about it in 2016. I mocked him and a year later it was at $21,000! I started investing (badly) in 2021. My portfolio is worth less than my initial investment despite being up more than 5x this last 12 months, but it will be in profit by the end of this year and I've learned a lot in the process.

Was considering that before Christmas but I think I’ll just continue to sit on it as I don’t need the cash now Fair enough mate - I'd be confident it will continue to go up. If it is the infrastructure/exchanges you're interested in, it might be worth looking at $HOOD (Robinhood). I think it will show decent returns this year in comparison.
