Avram Grant? You can't get him out of his coffin this early, the clocks haven't gone back yet. Besides, he looks too much like Larry Grayson for my liking. Shut that door!

Holloway has made a complete pigs ear of the job. The squad clearly isn't good enough. If Pulis goes there and keeps them up he will have done a fantastic job

I can 100% see Tony there. Why wouldn't they have him? His record with a club of that stature is unprecedented. Good luck to him if he does get it cos it's a tall order Unprecedented? I'm not sure I understand in what way, CB? I'm probably missing a chilling stat here but I honestly cannot work out what this means?

I know people are sick to death with the word Pulis but I actually believe HE'S A CERT for this job. I'll have a million pounds that he won't be in for this job. Lack of bottle. You couldn't afford to pay me out mate Seriously though it would be a massive challenge but who'd want it apart from Red Adair himself

Needless to say, I hope Palace go down.
For me, Pulis taking over would add extra conviction to that sentiment, if for no other reason than to cut some of the borderline biblical worship and rimming that STILL gets spouted on here.

Can't see it being Tone, Mutts. Seriously mate?why? I just can't see it, mate. I get the feeling Crystal Palace wants to be "easy on the eye" when playing. That's probably something Tony Pulis wouldn't achieve in at least a couple of years, if ever. Also, I can't see Tony being too fond of replacing a good friend of his. Say what you want about Tone, but he's a good man and that's something I don't think he'd like. I wonder if London appeals TP though? Anyway, I think Tony Pulis' dream appointment would be a Sheffield United, a Sheffield Wednesday or a Birmingham or something. A club where he would be allowed time to build his own side.

That's a frankly laughable comment about someone who came back to a club where he was pretty much hated by the support, was stubborn enough to play his style of football even though he was roundly slagged in the press (and by his club's own supporters) and showed up to the Villa game the day his mother died. Especially coming from some snide fucker posting on an internet forum. I'd love to see you tell him he's got no bottle to his face. If he's not in for this job it's because it's a shit one and he has the sense to not go near it. I very much doubt he'd be able to keep them up and I very much doubt Palace will be going places next season regardless of their manager.

Small PL club in trouble, it's made for Tone.
If they get relegated, he won't get blamed, if they stay up, he's a hero.

I have to have some sympathy with Holloway. The chairman said he wanted to hold back some of the promotion bounty for their club's long term benefit i.e. read we need the money to avoid Palace's continual 'are we going bust or are we not going bust'? circus. Croydon council, unlike some councils, is not rolling in dosh that they can bail out a local football club!

I'm surprised he agreed to go, rather than getting the bigger payout that would come from getting properly sacked.

Palace fans need to enjoy the rest of the ride and rebuild next season, then come up when they're a little more ready than they were this time around.

The financial consequences of relegation, especially for smaller clubs, are huge. This is why when clubs get into a mess they will possibly turn to managers like Tone, just as Coates did.

FFS! Here we go again. If TP is offered the job, good luck to him. So long as we don't go down I wish him the best, but will people just let it drop, we are where we are, with who we have. It really does'nt matter anymore what the previous manager did or did'nt do- get it into your skulls that he is gone and unlikely to be back anytime soon (unless he's offerd a job with a team that we have yet to play.)

Parish on Pulis: "Tony (Pulis) has never got relegated and he's out of work."
@palacestats 1h From what Parish is saying, the new manager would need Premier League experience and will need to know the league inside out.
?@palacestats 1h Steve Parish has said that Ian will be someone he will talk to when deciding on a new manager. #CPFC
@samwallaceindy 37m Asked about Tony Pulis, Parrish says 'Not a bad shout'. Holloway pipes up: 'He [Pulis] is my best mate'

How much bottle did it take to come back? Pretty much fuck all. He came back for his mate who he knew was going to back him to the hilt with piles of cash. Why not stay at Plymouth? That would have taken bottle. About the Villa game, very admirable, but not loads of bottle required. The world is full of people doing similar things on a daily basis. Still very admirable and should be applauded. He lacked bottle big time on the pitch. Sent his sides out to destruct, never brave enough to create. Lacked bottle to go for it in the big games - see Cup Final and Valencia as examples. As for the Palace job, why the hell wouldn't he take it. PL club! struggling! no expectation to stay up! owners who back the manager etc etc.
