Watched my 8 year old grandson play football tonight. Late in the match he broke away and scored in a cup semi final As he walked off the pitch I shouted good goal.... He replied...just like Mama! Mama being idolised? surely not!

Mama has always had fans. Even those that deride him like the bloke. He is a likeable man. We just needed to something other than he wins headers. That something was one of the best finishes of the season. Superb-it was a great finish in anyones book nevermind Mamas!

In your lifetime? Did you think that for some reason, 500 years in the future kids would be desperately trying to be him?

The youngster hasn't seen Stoke too often so he might think that Mama does that evey week He will see the team play next season as he has just signed up for the academy and will now see all home matches - but will he see Mama play again??

Met some Gillingham fans at a cricket match last year they were asking about Mama, and I said he just doesn't score enough goals , they said he was similar at Gillingham , but he always scored in important matches!!. Cometh the hour ?

Found it quite ironic that he scored 2 crucial goals for us when we needed them.
Mama has got nothing to prove to me, ive backed him all along when other fickle fans have slated him.
What annoys me most is the fact that some people believe the only reason we play long ball is because of mama?? Mama is more than capable of keeping it on the deck. It is Pulis who tells stoke to play the way they do.
Mama has been superb all season. Very effective at this level.

but will we see him play next season?

If we go up then id like to think that Pulis would replace him with someone of Premiership quality, but that can be said for the majority of the starting 11. It will be very interesting indeed.

I think Mama would be able to adapt to the Prem because of his style of his game.

If we do reach the promised land I can't see him being anything more than a sub., could be useful to bring on as not many Prem. defenders will have played against anyone like him.

Who does your lad play for? My lad played to night, hes a full back His manager tells him that when he wins the ball he should pass to the midfield etc. He says "why dont i just belt it up front like Stoke do to Mamma and Ric!" All his team mates and parents piss themselves laughing and his manager just shakes his head in horror ;D Hes modelling himself on Carl Dickinson, lots of fist clenching and gritting of teeth, but hes only 7 ;D STM

oh dear! the first game, 0-2 to your lot, was our first defeat in 12 matches, we were poor. in the second game, my lad was admiring the boots of one of your players when the corner was taken, and the lad he was admiring scored!! never a penalty in the second game. It was league match, not a semi-final. Lions and Rovers are two of the best teams we have played this season. Bradwell only decided to do an under 8's team 3 weeks before the season started, so we are well pleased with the way the season has gone. My lad got man of the match for Bradwell . All the best STM

Sorry about the info - I was told it was a cup tie - maybe we thought that as it was midweek Lions have been improving - grandson shouldn't have played having been ill all week but he made a miraculous recovery for the game! ..and no - it wasn't a penalty - just a ref wanting to be seen - happens everywhere!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, thoroughly nice bloke or not, the man should never be let anywhere near a Stoke shirt. Two goals against Bristol City, yes bloody marvelous, with any decent centre forward in the side all season we would have been promoted long ago!

Mama always has fans, as long as he wears the red and white of Stoke I will always cheer him on and Im sure a majority of Stokies will too. He is a little frustrating some times though and thats why he gets slagged off a bit. Either way though nobody should criticise him because he works his arse off and scored two vital goals last weekend.
You make a valid point, Do it for y_oh_y_delilah Just two goals all season is pretty piss poor, but Id rather him score crucial goals really if nothing else, those two goals he scored last weekend won us that crucial game.
