All the circumstantial evidence from the dogs etc seems to be explainable by cross-contamination (and has been done to death further up the thread). Otherwise it could only mean the McCanns were guilty so there would be no Crimewatch program 'cos they'd already be in jail! I guess that's why they didn't cover it - plus of course the idea of Crimewatch is to uncover further leads and suspects. If no real new evidence is uncovered after this latest effort the focus may well switch back to the McCanns. That's rubbish. Are you saying the investigators planted the blood under the tiles? Come on eh. Gerry McCann once smugly remarked, "find a body and prove we did it". This fucker is guilty, in my opinion. The Portuguese police were right from the start. No Carty..... that's a reasoned version of events from someone who doesn't have an axe to grind, one way or the other. If there was a enough blood under the tiles that could not be explained by the McCanns story then surely they'd have been charged? I'm no expert but I do know dead bodies are no longer required to secure a conviction - and a missing persons blood must be the most compelling circumstantial evidence of all. There must have been doubt in the minds of the Portuguese or they'd have charged them. So for now, they should continue to get the benefit of the doubt IMO. EDIT... Again - the cadaver dog picked up a scent on a Doctor's clothes who had been in contact with 6 cadavers just prior to the trip. EDIT... Portuguese not Spanish...sorry.

I have not made my mind up either way with regards to this case but this excuse seems particularly strange to me. Kate McCann is a GP. Do GPs even come into contact with 6 cadavers a year let alone in the run up to her holiday? And why would she wear her cadaver inspecting clothes on holiday?

If she hadn't come into contact with them or was unlikely to then the alarm would be raised by someone at her place of work. Apparently the odour can be transferred from surface to surface and still be detected by the dog - so she didn't need to be wearing those clothes at work for the dog to detect the smell.

But behind the sofa? Whichever version of events is true, those dogs are amazing. Edit: Also this is what was found by each dog: - cadaver odour dog: * in the living room, behind the sofa, close to the lateral window of the apartment - blood dog: * in the living room, behind the sofa, close to the lateral window of the apartment (exactly as it was signalled by the cadaver odour dog)

Well it was also found on the cuddlecat (also taken to work apparently!) - and that could have dropped behind the sofa. It doesn't look good mate but being as the stakes are so high, they've just got to be given the benefit of the doubt until something gives, one way or the other.

I may be wrong but i'm sure the claim that she had come into contact with 6 cadavers the week before her holiday (i wouldnt want her as my doctor if that is the case!) has never been verified by Kate McCann. I think I read somewhere that this related to a comment made a friend/family member that has stuck as part of the whole story.

So what we are saying is that Kate handles a few cadavers whilst wearing her normal clothes and holding a teddy bear, she then goes home (possibly without washing her hands) and packs her holiday clothes. At some time in the villa, she plays a game of hide the teddy which explains the scent from behind the sofa etc etc. Sounds plausible to me, then again people have often said I should learn to be more cynical.

I guess it depends if she had any patients in a bad way tea time ish, after all if a few drinks and food are more important than her kids safety would she give a second thought to a patient !

Would anyone say that the fact that the McCann's are GPs is what seems to have got them out of the shit?

Take the GP thing out of the equation though and the cadaver dogs having a dicky fit in the apartment and around the car of a missing child .....

If the cadaver smell was transfered 3 or 4 times, including onto the cuddle cat, why didnt the digs alert to Maddies bed? Surely a small child wouldve slept with or at very least played with her favourite toy in her bed? Why didnt the dogs alert to any of the twins clothes or possesions?

From that link Dr Gerald McCann did however make the claim that a senior social worker had advised him that their child care arrangements in Praia da Luz were 'well within the bounds of responsible child care'. Who was the social worker? Jimmy saville

police in portugal re open case

police in portugal re open case Begs the question is the net slowly closing around the McCanns? There is a lot of unanswered questions regarding existing evidence such as the cadaver and blood sniffing dogs finds, the 15/19 DNA match to Maddie from the flat and car, the smoke and mirrors of the different sightings of Maddie being abducted. There is also no reported reaction to the Crimewatch programme after the initial flurry. The fact that the Portugese Police have reopened the case may mean that they now have further evidence of their own to pursue the McCanns. After all a senior detective lost his job and there is an axe to grind in finally nailing them.

It's simple to see that most of us are trying to sit on the fence with this delicate subject. But unfortunately the Mccanns continue to ask the public to fund them when they do not answer very important questions from the very night. FFS that's what makes people suspicious. I don't hate or like them, but the evidence on the table points towards the Mccanns just lying like fuck and not answering questions truthfully to help find the little girl. It's human nature to suspect that something's amiss but add to that the Portuguese thought she died in the apartment along with the dogs evidence it's really hard to support the parents, even though I would want to because the last thing we want is for her own patents to be responsible

If the Portuguese police do end up charging/convicting the parents, what does that mean for the BBC and the government/police who have thrown so much taxpayer money into supporting them.

im appalled too mate ....shall we delete? Always the same on here...anyone who isn't with the bully crowd gets it in the neck. Don't join in then if you don't agree with other peoples opinion but can't deal with counter arguments without crying "bully". As stated on several posts there are many anomalies and much unresolved evidence regarding Maddie"s disappearance that a case of simple abduction of a child does not fit into. If you can't see that though, I respect your opinion and would never bully you, or anybody for that matter, with my opinion. How many hundreds of message boards do you think have a thread discussing this and expressing unease in the way the investigation is going?
