I can see where they're coming from.
Ozil is a Germany international, a brilliant footballer who has topped the assists charts for the top European leagues for three years running.
Bale has had one wonder season in which he still wasn't the best player in the league by many accounts, and is often marked out of games by anyone who can match his pace.
For 85m I'd be expecting a lot more than that.

Bale will not be much of a success in Madrid
I think its a crazy amount to pay
Granted good footballer, but once incredible season doesn`t make you one of the worlds best
He will improve them, but losing Ozil they will also lose quality, overall a slight improvement?
He is also injury prone - not far off £100mil for one player? Insane is the word, simply insane.

Apparently Zidane was against both deals happening, I can understand why, crazy money for Bale and Ozil is a quality player.

Ozil is a metronome, he will produce chances game after game, season after season. Madrid will miss him in my opinion.

Bale isn't worth 85 million quid, but when a club doesn't want to sell and there is no buy-out clause you'l always end up paying way over the odds. Real will be devastating on the counter attack.. even more so than usual.

The best thing about this Bale transfer is Southampton sold their 25% of the fee for Tommy Forecast, who is shit and is now playing for Chelmsford City.
Of all the transfer fuck ups that has to be ranked right up there as one of the worst decisions of all time.

I think Bale will fail (nice) at Real Madrid...
In all seriousness I genuinely believe that Bale will find Madrid's game too different to the fast pace of the Premiership and he'll be marked out of the game. Ozil was a good player for Madrid and it's no wonder they're angry.

Ozil + £42.5m or Gareth Bale?
Even a straight swap and I'd have to think about it. £42.5m is an awful lot for 1 man and I think it makes Arsenal lopsided as one player is so much better than anyone else, but IMO, Madrid have been swayed by the need to make a 'marque' signing to compete with Barca's capture of Neymar and having stated their intent, felt obliged to follow it through without really thinking through the financial or playing consequences.
Ozil is a great player who will be brilliant in the Premiership. Why Man Utd didn't stick £15m on the Fellaini fee and go for him I'll never know

Bale is a good player Ozil is a class act that's the difference Tottenham must be doing cartwheels at getting 85 million.

Ozil is a Germany international, a brilliant footballer who has topped the assists charts for the top European leagues for three years running. except he hasn't - in the league at least 2nd to Iniesta last year (2012-13), He did beat Messi to first place in 2011/12 (17 to Messi's 15: 4 goals to Messi's 50), 2nd to Messi year before that (2010-11). Good player, should do well at Arsenal.

I'm trying to see where he will play. Granted I don't watch Madrid but as far as I'm aware, Ronaldo is their left sided winger. Will Bale be a central attacking mid now after playing there a bit for Spurs?

Bale will be brilliant at Madrid, he's gone at the right time. I think he will be a huge success as long as he can keep it together in his head, that's the one thing that COULD hold him back. I don't think it will and I believe he'll be as big for Madrid as Neymar's going to be for Barca. As for Ozil great business for Real, making a healthy profit and Arsenal have the best CAM in the world in my opinion, he's had a great few years since bursting on the scene in that world cup.
Working with Ronaldo who is the original player (of Bale's style) will help him alot, I think he needs to get bigger like Ronaldo did to be as big as a success, he'll be a great great player

Ozil's come out and said the fans never chanted his name in three years, but chanted for Isco (his de-facto replacement) on his debut.
If the fans had shown him more appreciation, or the club had made him feel more wanted there, he might have been more inclined to stick around in the face of bids coming in.

After seeing that most of them on that facebook page are Turks who only support madrid because of Ozil( yes I know hes german) beeing muslim and turkish heritage.
And ozil was not sold because of Bale anyway he was sold because of Isco

Where's your source for these comments? I'm quite intrigued.. I went to a Real game about 18 months ago, he seemed a fan favorite to me
