You've missed my point. The money earned means nothing about how World class a player is imo. It's all down to ability. Money is irrelevant. I agree with you that money does not make a World Class player. But money far from irrelevant. Money does not make a player better, but money is nearly always the most important thing. That's why Dempsey is in Seattle and the pretty much the same teams with the highest payroll always win the Champs League. And when a player does not care about money, that's most likely because he has banked a couple $ million. I'm not saying spending money leads directly to winning, but money talks. Glad we are having a real conversation and not calling each other names. Oh it has plenty of relevance of course it does (more than it should in reality) but not in the case of what makes a World class player imo.

If you didn't know Shea scored for Stoke You know from previous posts that I am worried that the signing of Shea could affect future signings the club would like to make from USA. Shea's WP application was very close to being rejected on appeal. The club even wheeled out TP to make a case for one to be granted. The next time we apply it isn't going to look too good if we start to trot out the same reasons and then the panel look back to the Shea appeal. I don't know why we signed the lad if our friends across the Atlantic don't think he is good enough.

He needs to make his mind up as to whether he wants to get another cap for a mickey mouse country or have a career in the professional game, sharpish. Hey, we are not a mickey mouse country, we are THE Mickey Mouse country.

Cant possibly see how anyone can dismiss him as wank yet. From reports he is a hot and cold player but he clearly has several good attributes as a winger. Pace, strength and skill. Whether he can fulfil his potential remains to be seen.

I don't think he's ever going to be a "first name on the team sheet" type of player, but a very useful player with pace, good positioning, and a tendency to be streaky-good.

I hope Brek Shea's off field funny fuckerdness translates onto the pitch, in the form of a bit of maverick genius. Seen no pace, awareness, skill nor maverick genius so far. The jury is still out. I'm not trying to write the lad off. Just attempting to scratch the surface to see if we've got a contender. I'm trying to keep the powder dry on a lot of these player issues and squad conundrums:
Patience grasshopper....
Left attacking in a 433 or the left winger or whatnot, is just one of the positions that I think too much about.
Shea ain't fit nor ready. Assaidi looks mint but ain't yet quite match ready for the 90 mins. Kightly don't seem to be in favour. Should Pieters be left wing? Etherington, Walters: need I repeat the valid arguments against their selection on the left flank attacking? Adam can play left wing but perhaps shouldn't, but yeah but no!
over loaded, but not quite there. What shall we do? Wait a bit and play Ethers in the meantime? It's hard...

Let's generously say that he looked like a player who is coming back from an injury. I see that the USA have a game coming up soon that Shea could be asked to take part in. He needs to make his mind up as to whether he wants to get another cap for a mickey mouse country or have a career in the professional game, sharpish. "Micky Mouse Country".........Really? IGNORE THAT............I see from previous posts that it was 'tongue in cheek'. That'll teach me to read previous posts before posting.

Really can't blame Brits for thinking the USMNT is Mickey Mouse with Shea getting called into camp. He hasn't started a real game in over a year and Shea still is almost an automatic pick for the USA. Think about from a Stoke fan's point of view. Shea can't make the bench for Stoke but he's a superstar for America. USA will never get respect until it makes the World Cup semi-finals. I doubt they cover USMNT poaching of German and Icelandic players in Britain.

His performance on Wednesday was dreadful. To suggest otherwise is you simply burying your head in the sand. The impact Assaidi made, illustrated the difference between a decent footballer and Shea.

Well he's got two weeks now to get fit. He's not been called up for the Yanks so hopefully he can get a few 90 minutes under his belt for the reserves and get to somewhere near full fitness. The same goes for Assaidi.
Even when he's fit though, he could struggle to make the bench as it stands.....possibly?

A fully fit Shea provides true width from the left that no one else can offer except Etherington.

Having thought about it I think Walters will move to the bench, Jerome will be fooked off, Pennant and Assaidi to start, Shea and Ethers on the bench. Yeah that works!

If we sign the Austrian, do we think Shea will go out on loan? 2 wingers will have to go. Kightly will be one and then that leaves Ethers out permanently or Shea on loan.

So whoever froze my account has no problem with someone taking cheap shots at someone else's country, looking to invoke a reaction, knowing damn well there's a number of Americans posting here due to Stoke bringing more and more Americans in, yet you freeze my account for responding with the same language I see all over this forum? Who did it and who do I talk to? Whoever did it didn't even notify me or give me an explanation. No warning at all. I'd love an explanation as to why my account was frozen and think it's pretty disrespectful not only towards American fans here but the American players as well in Stoke's squad that insulting our country is encouraged. Who are the MOD's here so I can get an explanation? And don't tell me it was MysticalDescent.

Who are the MOD's here so I can get an explanation? And don't tell me it was MysticalDescent. Firstly, Hey, we are not a mickey mouse country, we are THE Mickey Mouse country. Finally, somebody got it! I thought it was obvious since the USA is clearly not a Mickey Mouse country in the sense of being unimportant or insignificant, but in retrospect, the execution was pretty much garbage, so sorry about that. It has rather taken away from the real point, which is that Klinsmann has done Shea absolutely no favours by dragging Shea along to a tournament as part of a squad comprised mostly of second string players. He missed the bulk of pre-season fitness training, missed the first two friendlies and then ebded up injured before he can prove himself. Rather than having a couple of months to show Hughes his value to the team, he has been limited to 45 minutes against Walsall when he was clearly struggling for fitness. As a litte sweetener, the deal for Shea involved him playing the the pre-season game against Dallas, or Stoke paying money to the MLS if he was left out. Perhaps Klinsmann would like to pay that one out of his own pocket. There's an account named 'admin', that's what you're after, by the way.
