The only reason he didnt play at Deportivo is because their club legend was starting striker and the fans wanted him and not Oliveira, despite him playing better Was he really playing better than Riki? Fans don't pick teams, and Riki bagged 13 goals.

Speaking of Egyptian, there's correspondance on that account with (the real) Mido where he asks him "how r u mate? is it true that u r egyptian?"
The twitter account holder doesn't reply.

Oliviera's style was better for the team but the manager was too stubborn to change, Oliveira every time he came on changed the game and whenever started scored. Should have started more but manager too stubborn and started Riki. Sounds familiar huh

Genuine question, I've no idea how he played for them. Seems strange that fans and manager of a team in a relegation battle would both reject a player making a difference?

Seemed to be something dodgy at Depor going on with a Portuguese agent having a lot of influence and seven Portuguese players at the club.

There was a spell of 5-6 games where they went unbeaten, he started in a 4-0 win, scored and got an assist, was then dropped. Losing 1-0 to Mallorca, he came off the bench and made a bursting run down the left, on the counter, few passes later they scored and they went onto win. I only remember that game because it was on TV , but his pace and energy was always a game changer much like Jerome for us. Not many liked him but he still changed games

Still, they got through three managers last season and doesn't seem like any of them had that much faith in him, while Riki scored goals fairly regularly by the standards of a doomed side who couldn't pay their players. It's a strange one.

Who were they out of interest Rob? Not that I have a clue who any of them are but Pizzi, Bruno Gama, Silvio, Ze Castro, Diogo Salomao were five of them, no idea who the other one is!

Cheers! According to transfermarkt, Oliviera's agents are the friendly fellas at Gestifute who are probably having their best summer ever. Why hasn't the poster of the same name told us about him I wonder?
Anyway I find the whole situation around this lad strange.

Tbh I wouldn't mind a loan for the lad and hopefully he will look promising and score a few goals with Diouf beside him, but I wouldn't jump in the deep end and buy him straight away hope it's a loan. About time we utilised the loan market.......

After reading John Percy's article it looks like the Diouf deal has collapsed.
Do you think Oliviera is a plan B/replacement for Diouf or do you think Hughes would want both and ship out 2 strikers?
Or maybe all this Oliveira talk is to scare Hannover into dropping their price

I reckon the Diouf saga will rumble on until the end of the window - Oliveira I could see us being in for because he offers something different to what we've got and is available. Might be wrong though.

I thought that. Get Oliveira in now and linked up with the team in the US, get him settled and give him a good preseason with a few games. Nab Diouf late on in the window for 4m+ add ons

Transfers, Customer appreciation, and Stokes brand all over.. Well done. 100% turn-around in most aspects. With oliveira and talk of diouf we've really turned a corner and for the better our acquisitions so far have been shockingly good far better than anyone could imagine... barca b on a free... come on.

I'm starting to wonder about the credibility of this. All the talk has spun from one article from Portugal, which could be their version of the daily star for all we know.
