3.54 in the Chicago marathon last Sunday, happy with that as my training was interrupted a few times with niggles, covid, work and life, and it was a warm and humid day, plus I hadn't thought about jet lag as it didn't affect me last year when going there for a holiday as we landed later in the evening and got to the hotel about 11PM and crashed through the night, I was knackered. Nice one, what the setup like at Chicago? Well organised and that? Next one for me in Manchester in April. Managed to get in on the final release of places last week.

Some ridiculous times on here, keep it up! Fair play to anyone who runs consistently. My joints, even at a relatively young age of 33, are shot to bits. Can’t do more than 5 miles without my knees giving in. I’m 34, running has helped strengthen my knees. Trick is to build up steady or you risk over use injuries to your knees and other parts. I saw our mate Felonious last night, he’s in his 60’s and running very quick 5k times! Age is what you make of it, there are loads of veteran runners in the area that are very quick and very strong.

The set up was top notch, very well organised, I'd recommend it. I missed out on Manchester last week, was trying on my phone and laptop, kept refreshing, thought I was in once but it stalled, and kicked me out, then both were sold out. www.facebook.com/share/r/j2x7nMnT7Rb7Ncms/

I got a good for age place, but it isn't too bad to get into it via the lottery which is open now www.chicagomarathon.com/apply/It was unusually hot there I thought for the time of the year, it's a great city isn't it, and marathon weekend is really buzzing

I was really tempted to go for Chicago in the 2025 lottery, but leaning towards a bash at Valencia at the end of 2025 or trying to pick off one of the superhalfs series. Although, I’ve already missed out on the first / main batch of Copenhagen.

Escape from Meriden done. Started midnight Friday night, made it 53 miles home. Not much running done after the first 20 or so though. Still, 111th out of 257, I'll definitely take any top half finish as a bonus these days! I slept well last night!
