I heard a rumour today, although from Fraise so it may not be reliable, that it's Orb's big day today where he tries his best to complete a marathon albeit with pub stops. My guess is that it ended messily at the first pub stop This is true First marathon completed in 4:38. Very hot conditions and some difficult terrain. Felt ok until about mile 22 and then really struggled till the end. Still, something I’ve done that I’d never in a million years would I ever think I’d do. Well done, great achievement! You've done well to get to 22 miles before struggling too, although I can relate to how long those 4 miles feel like after hitting the wall!

Just back from my first ever half marathon, at the grand old age of 44. Felt good, got well under 2 hrs which was the target. Now for pizza and beer

Leeds Half Marathon today - about 4,000 running. First 6.5 was more or less a long slow ascent, then a short plateau, and then 6 back down into the city centre. Final 3 miles along the Kirkstall Road where there is no shade were a bit warm for my liking, but a well supported event.

Horrible 11 miler today. Tried it at tempo pace and blew up like a Russian tank 🤪 A very slow and steady 6 miles this morning at 9 minute mile pace on canal and old railway track after yesterday's efforts, not a minute near the red zone. Chilled

Final deferred race from COVID I think? Did 38.45 for 10km. Very happy with that as it was second 10k race in 6 days and could feel that I hadn’t got any top-end during the final 2km.

Anderton boat lift 10k this weekend, there will be the normal oatcake barge which has been there the last few weekends, also the booze barge and a pizza barge, plenty to refuel up with after. A guy from work who is a Bramhall runner and ran the Alderley edge bypass in 36 minutes asked me if it is a PB race as he has entered

Nice 10k race this morning, very undulating with tight turns here and there and 1 set of steps off the river, got 2nd VM60. Followed it with bacon egg and cheese oatcakes off the oatcake barge and a pint of Titanic plumporter off the booze-inn barge

Netley 10k today, 40:08. Fairly happy as I didn’t taper at all for this one & did 100k bike ride yesterday.
A year ago I would have been very happy with a 40:08/beyond frustrated not to go sub40, but now I've broken that barrier i'm much more relaxed about missing out by a few seconds.

Interesting track session last night. Two mile warm up with Yes's glamorous training partner trying to chat whilst running at her warm up pace was interesting 5 minutes tempo followed by 6 x 3 minute efforts at 5K pace after which I headed off for the two mile warm down on a solo run. Going well until the halfway point when the elite of Stoke AC came flying past me both sides like a herd of Wildebeest
