I hurt my knee doing a gentle warm up at home this morning, so once again thought maybe I should give up! The sock I was wearing seemed to hurt it, and I don't think it's even a compression sock. I changed that sock and went out anyway, planning to walk if I didn't feel like running. I ended up running my 4th longest distance ever at 7.2k. Oops! Even trying a slow pace knackered me out as much as faster runs though - I averaged 5:12/km, though a 4:20/km last km suggests I had energy left in the tank. I didn't enjoy most of the run all that much, but I'd forgotten how good it can feel after. I usually run on my lunch breaks then return straight to work, so maybe that doesn't give me time to enjoy the feeling. Start running to heart rate. It will be slow at start but a good way to improve

And do they work seamlessly with Strava? Early on, I was improving without trying. I even went two weeks where I only ran once but came back much faster than ever. Now I'm running my slowest pace but still feeling knackered.

Shout out to the guy that overtook me on the roads in Milton this morning and ignored my request for a race. You had a lucky escape.

I couldn’t do that average pace if I sprinted as fast as I can 😩😂 Its all relevant to your own levels. I follow people on Strava that regularly post runs with long distance (10 miles+) at a pace of 4 minute per km. I can't get my head around that. I can't even achieve that pace when I'm full pelt going for a 5k PB. And there are others that post times 6m per km or 7m per km. Times are irrelevant really. Its just about getting out there, keeping active and keeping fit. And that's both body and mind.

9.5 miles this morning great running conditions, mix of trails and anal. Mrs Orbs successfully navigated C25k with me yesterday and then I managed a nice 6 and a 1/2km at 5.11/km average. Lovely

We all do the same! Never listen to the rest & ice advice even though it works....and as a footnote for todays run, the first 5k time has gone hopefully to help my no.2 team (Chorlton Runners) beat Stockport Harriers in a friendly challenge. A stokie helping out against Stockport....Ive gone all Mark Stein

My 3rd run in as many days today, a 4k at 4:40/km. I think it's the first time I've been able to run for 3 consecutive days in months. I'm still knackered though - beginning to wonder if I've had a mild form of COVID.
After thinking of giving up running due to annoying injuries a week ago, now I'm going to have to stop myself from going out tomorrow to make sure I don't overdo it.

Last couple of miles hurt a bit did similar on Sunday, wind and rain came from nowhere last couple of miles after a great start to the day 13.5 miles, stopped for a couple of groups of horse riders to go past, a group of 8 cyclists in two's about 100 yards apart, hhmm ... 1 fookin dog running at me and barking aggressively, (told the stupid bitch of an owner to keep it on a fuckin lead) plenty of people out walking the lanes who don't know what side of the road they are supposed to be A morning run of cunting under my breath a lot

An eventual 5k run today after being blocked by flooding in four places around Apedale. It was a struggle, but I felt good for the run and hope my usual energy returns sooner rather than later...

Have you thought of running through it? Sometimes I do. I may have if it wasn't either before I started the run or so early in the run. My shoes would've doubled in weight. One route was a few inches deep!
