I'm not sure if it's the cooler weather, the absence of rum for a few days, the iron tablets, vitamin tablets, cod liver oil capsules, oranges (to help with the iron absorption) or the rice pudding power but I managed a rather pleasing 53 minute PB for 10K today (I think the cooler weather if I'm being honest)

10K this morning bang on 41 minutes it absolutely pissed down all the war around the course. What route did you do? Got a good speed and tempo session in this week, struggling with the shin and calf on my run this morning though. Hopefully all fine with a long run tomorrow and I'm back on track!

It was a training run top of the Dale, Scot Hay Road, Sneyd Terrace, The Brighton (Twice), the railway track, over to lower Milehouse, back of your old stamping ground. I ate late the night before and started the run very early so unfortunately I had stitch for the last 6K so much so that I nearly abandoned the run at 6K. The 6th K was 4:22. I've done one speed session since lockdown and all the running has been to get me ready for a tough half, 1:33 and to last the 20 miler which I'm looking forward to.

Must be a motorised zimmer? One of the lads did his 10K in bang on 60 minutes today and he's getting faster. I might add that he's two months away from his 80th birthday and has had a few years off running culminating in him having a hip replacement in February. He can't wait for the proper racing to come back because he's eyeing the North Staffs records. He knocked a 47 minute 10K up to celebrate his 75th...... so get your finger out young man

Was it 50 points for you? Yeah, the kids just aren't quick enough these days I've let the kid that finished on 49 know π Good luck on your 20 today! I'm resting from running as I can't shake a calf injury, just cycling for the moment. Hopefully be back running within a week. Had some niggles since before Leek Half, but just ran through it and think I made it worse.

He looks like he's improved tremendously since the start of the year and another 7 races and we may be having a socially distanced photo together. 2:30 today I'm ecstatic, a 10 minute improvement on my last 20 miler an not too shabby for an ageing 5K runner out of his comfort zone My fabulous training partner left me for dead although I did pace her for the first 12 miles. It's always lovely to see somebody in that "zone" where they can't put a foot wrong

Hi both, 49 pointer here!! felonious - Despite never having met you, I'm in awe of your performances at the twilight end of your running career (no disrespect!). What is your secret?! Would be great if we could actually have a face to face race before the end of the season! You are nailed on for a minimum of 3rd place and could easily win it with a few more 50's. Anyway, thanks for Keeping it competitive at the top of C and ensuring that I'm always biting my nails every time the results come out! π

Those lads there are amongst the worst you'll ever come across so I had to learn to run very fast just to stay alive and it's left me in good stead to this day. Looking at recent results it looks like at least one of them still wouldn't catch me

First race since mid February for me - Bournemouth International Triathlon, finished with a 43:12 10k for total time of 2:32:49 (1500m swim & 40k bike ride).
Triathlon is a bit easier to socially distance, we started at 15s intervals for about an hour and its sea swim, so lots of space

3.51 miles 26.47
Itβs a route I do from work with a massive hill at the end. PB pace for that matched run 7.37/mi
