41 minutes this morning for a hilly 10K incorporating the middle 5 miles of the Werrington 10K. Back to back 20 minute 5K splits more than happy with that. Wouldn't back to back 20 minute 5k splits mean 40 minutes? Standard 10K in 53 minutes today followed by a 7K walk which was a mistake because now I've got a blister on each foot. (Unless they're just spreading from my hands )

Is that your St Thomas 10k submission? I did 2 miles of mine this morning and stopped, think the beer and takeaway last night didn't help, I'm obviously not a hardened athlete like the rest of my club! Having a go on Monday up and down the Wammy with a friend 👍 It is. Have you done the St Thomas 7 in previous years? The instructions are to find an equally difficult course..... I reckon I'd have been sub 40 on the Wammy this morning I think you've put yourself at a disadvantage as I don't think there are any rules around making this one as difficult as the actual course. It's a great time though, you'd definitely be under 40 there. I ran St Thomas 7 2 & 3 years ago, it's a bloody tough course! I've pointed one of your group C competitors in the direction of this thread, hopefully he will post soon. Just be gentle with him though, he's still 'new to running' 😉

I take it you're replacing the Leek Half with a trip to Lake Vyrnwy? I'd already decided in my own mind that it was going to be an equivalent difficulty and elevation for all the races and originally before this suggestion cropped up I was going to do the Newcastle 10. Interestingly I think I would have beaten my St Thomas 7 mile pb judging by the time today. I can't remember whether I mentioned it but I bumped into the delightful Fiona and hubby last December in Lanzarote coming out of a bar with about 20 of your lads and lasses. When my club was mentioned one of them asked me if I was the poster on the Oatcake who was always nice to Yes .... Wouldn't give me his username though

Sounds like you're getting good at this running thing, once you get the kids into their own cars I can see a running club on the horizon albeit one probably desperate for members

I'm sure your group C rival will be along at some point 😉

Another reluctant runner here - really don't like it, but needs must with no football for the foreseeable.
There's a couple of handy tracks by me of 4 and 5 miles, so doing those 3 or 4 times a week atm. Still an absolute chore though, so do hoping I get a taste for it soon.

Enjoy yourself today Redapples! Don't let Fel corrupt you Cheers mate. Forecast is saying 21 degrees and showers. Its feeling a bit muggy today too. Not great conditions for running but nothing will dampen the spirits. Its the last one and I assume (hope!) adrenaline will carry me round!!

got myself back up to half marathon distance yesterday, couple of stops for photos, and quick film of the swifts zooming bout (at 7AM) and to dive under a bush to socially distance from 2 horses coming down a narrow path in the woods.
