Not quick enough, can I have a refund? Figured I needed to pace myself, as my legs will be in bits in a weeks time. And no, fuck off. ๐

The overwhelming majority are people I don't know. My route takes me into Wollaton Park which has a hall (batman filmed there)and deer and so loads of visitors. Other runners go too though because it's quite picturesque with a big lake. I'd imagine there isn't much difference in the response rate (R value) between those that have met me before and complete strangers... I'm going out later so I'll do a poll of runners and report back on the R value I know it well, it holds the national cross country championships....... when did you get so serious? You also ran through it on the Nottingham Half. Serious Anyway, I can confirm I saw 9 fellow runners today on my 10K. 6 of which completely ignored my eye contact and friendly wave/hand up. 2 responded in as an equally friendly manner. To be fair to the other, he flew past me and by the time I'd mustered enough breath to shout 'hello' he was so far in front he wouldn't have heard me anyway. I therefore declare that the 'R' value for Nottingham today is 2/8 which = 0.25. 54 minutes BTW - which considering I was 1.02 at the start of April I'm very happy with

Mud up to my knees and shit loads of hills. With a ratio like that you must have a bit of a serial killer look about you.

The lockdown haircut hasn't helped plus my face/cheeks always go bright red so maybe it says more about me than the good folk of Nottingham. You're right about the hills too. That's my excuse for 54 minutes. If only I could find some nice flat canal towpaths to run down

Tough 8 miler yesterday at Hanchurch, 254 metres of climb. Three main climbs being the bottom road at Hanchurch to the top road, the golf course approach road at Trentham to the back of the monkey forest and the Eccleshall road back up to the Hanchurch picnic site car park.

Day 3 done. Quick question, I'm getting a bit of irritation/chafing already (top of the legs / inner thigh). I've never really had that before. What do you recommend? A bit of talc? Vaseline? Or something else? www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thomasbeech

Wiggle, Chain Reaction etc will all sell it online. Local cycle shops may stock it too.

I dont have to hand what you recommend) what is the best thing I can use, that I have already in the house? I have vaseline, sudocrem and talc powder.

I was aiming for a 7am run this morning but a frozen mojito, a couple of rums and a gin and tonic whilst playing online poker until 2am soon put pay to that. Ah well, there's always tomorrow innit.

After that anything around or over 100k I slapped it on. Never suffered again ๐

Sounds good. How did you get on at Poker? I used to play a bit online myself. I play on Pokerface - it's pretty good really. It's only cost me ยฃ3.99 once when I needed to buy more chips. You get these free spins every 4 hours that give you more chips for free and also more free chips when you move up a 'level' You're doing well with the running (might even have to consider donating soon...) The early mornings are definitely the best time of day. 7.45 for a 10K today was very pleasant. In terms of the response (R) rate then it was extremely positive today. Out of 12 runners I had a staggering 10 responses giving the R rate as 0.83. It may have been that I was less red and sweaty and therefore looked much less like a serial killer

I notice Strava have made it so you need to subscribe now, in order to see segment leaderboards. Bastards.
Is it worth paying for? Do you get much for your money?

Iโm on the 60 day free trial, mainly to keep the leaderboards. Other than that I get far more info from Garmin Connect. Once the trial is up Iโm going for the free version again. Not worth it for me.
