Such sad news. I remember Mabel and her amazing badges from first going to games with my dad in the 70s. In recent years I got to know her a bit as a Coach 1 regular and she was always so friendly and chatty, even in the early hours returning from some dire midweek game at the other end of the country. Away days will never be the same again. She will be much missed. My thoughts are with Margaret and the rest of her family.

RIP duck, did not know you Mabel apart from the occasional sightings walking round the ground pre kick off, how could you not be missed with all your Stoke memorabilia on. Sincere condolences to Stokes number one supporter and family.

So sad to hear about the passing of a special lady. Thoughts are with her family.
It was a pleasure to sit with or near Mabel at most away games. She would thump me when a stiker missed a chance. Sadly, not enough bruises on my arm in recent seasons :-(. And I didn't mind her calling me a pillock on many occasions.
Rest in peace duck.

Terribly sad to hear this news. A wonderful lady who devoted her life to her family and her local football club. She was a permanent fixture on the Family Coach years ago, always sat at the front, a credit to the club. I remember when EON were parading the FA Cup in Fountain Square,Hanley, in the build up to the final in 2011, & I went to see what the fuss was, & the first person I bumped into was Mabel, happy ansd smiling as ever. RIP.x

Reading through these heartfelt tributes has brought tears to my eyes.
Like many others have said, I never actually knew Mabel personally but since an early age of watching Stoke (over 40 years) I always looked for her at away matches and when I spotted her I'd feel almost content. I once plucked up the courage to say hello and asked if I could look at her badges. She called me a cheeky monkey and she gave me one of the biggest smiles that I will never forget.
There's a red and white star burning brightly in the sky tonight.
Love and respect to Mabel's family and many many friends. We'll be with You X

Will miss you Mabel, often shared a word or two after the game on the way back to the official coaches. Away games will not be the same without you. Condolences to the family.

Apologize it isn't that big but just made this. Beautiful. Am really touched at the people who've registered just to post a tribute to Mabel as their first post - welcome to the board albeit at such a very sad time.
