Such sad, sad news. I do not know Mabel personally but, like every other Stokie, know of her. A true unique legend who will be sadly missed. RIP Stoke City's number one fan.

Landed in Savannah earlier this evening after a trip back home to Tean to get the news from one of Mabel's family members.
I have fond memories of my first away trips with my Dad(who passed away recently to) back in the early 80's. I first met Mabel in 1983/4 at Upton Park where only a few hundred had travelled.
She was resplendent in her scarf. Over the next few years I began to collect badges of my own,.
As I got older and Stoke worse I travelled on the coaches, Mabel was always there for everyone. I progressed to the car and trains, but always looked forward to seeing the gang on my arrival at the away games.
You'll be sorely missed Mabel, my love to the family. I'll be with you tonight as I raise a glass to toast a wonderful ambassador of our club.

Oh dear, this is the saddest news. What a lovely lady she was. And what strength she had in that little body. I only knew her for about 12 years but I remember not believing it when Malcolm Clarke first told me her age when we all (including Mabel) got kept behind by the Police as if we were naughty school kids after a night game against Burnley. Games, especially away games, won't be the same without Mabel. In the nicest possible way she was part of the furniture. I hope all of her family find comfort and peace at this sad time. May their memories of a wonderful lady and their shared love get them through the next few, difficult weeks. Rest in Peace Mabel - you'll be sadly missed, not only by your close family and friends but by hundreds, maybe thousands of Stokies whose lives you enriched. Well said, John. So sad to read this news. A proper Stokie who will be missed by so many of us. I would go for my couple of minutes audience, in Ds before home games (and obviously, come away with a couple of draw tickets). I'll miss looking out for her always-smiling face, when I am back wom for games. Best wishes to her family (those by blood and those by a shared passion). Good night and god bless - It's been a hell of a knock - Rest in peace, Anty Mabe. Andy

Just for those who wish to be updated on Mabels condition unfortunately the pneumonia returned for a third time and much worse yesterday and Mabel just doesn't appear to have any strength left to fight it. If there is no improvement in the next few hours doctors are going to withdraw treatment and just keep her comfortable. She's still fighting but is just running out of strength. X Such dignity Bridget....Thoughts with you...RIP Mabe...

Really sad news to wake up to this morning. Please can the Club make sure some fitting tribute takes place at the first home game next season?
RIP Mabel, a lovely lady who I chatted to at one of my 1st away days many many moons ago & who you never forgot

Such sad news. I only spoke to her on one occasion but sehe was the epitome of what we believe a Stoke fan to be. Passionate about her team, totally loyal and even at her age enthusiastic about the team and the club.
We've lost one of own. It would be great for the club to mark her passing at the first game ... Every one knew her or knew of her. She will be very sadly missed.
Thoughts are with her family.

How sad. I remember Mabel and her other 'badge lady' friends from my very first visit to the Vic in 1976. A true Stoke legend in an era when that phrase is so over used. RIP Mabel.

RIP Mabel, so sad to hear this news. Having my bag searched as I get in the coach will never be the same. Not looking forward to the coach trip to Liverpool. Deepest condolences to the family xx
A thought to remember Mabel, The club to produce a special Mabel lapel badge, sell them for a quid each, money to a charity of Mabel's family's choice?

Such sad news. RIP.
Ive watched SCFC all my life and Im far from young but I seem to remember having seen you at the grounds all that time. I never knew you but you always seemed to me to be the representation of everything that was good about being a fan.
Deepest condolences to all.
