Please let it be true. A cacophony of boos as he jogs his sorry chavy ass down the touchline for one last time. A fitting send off me thinks. And while he's at it, can he please take his coaching pygmies with him. boooo boooOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOOOOO I always thought cacophony meant a big noise not just a few miserable feckers straining to be heard above the warm applause for a key figure in our return to the top flight.

A 'washing our dirty linen in public' section of the 150th Anniversary Celebrations has now been announced at half time in the Spurs game. Pulis and Pennant talk to Jeremy Kyle about their differences. They both take a lie detector test but the machine explodes. Ebony and Ivory is playing over the tannoy. A semi clad Sir Ben Kingsley playing Tony Pulis and Colin Farrell playing James Beattie recreate Arsenal Towelgate through the medium of dance. The true scope of the Brian Little years is revealed. Pulis gets sacked

Remember the source that told us Huth had moved his family to London and his move to Spurs was a done deal?

Oh, and the other small thing is that the chances of us being mathematically safe before the Spurs game are as close to zero as makes no difference. This isn't being planned and it won't happen. Let's face it ,though, if we win on Saturday, we're safe. I could well see the powers-that-be (Coates) wanting to give Pulis the chance of a public departure in front of a sell-out and the Sky cameras, with appreciative applause ringing in his ears, putting a positive spin on his exit, rather than have him slinking away in mid-May? Having said that, if we lose on Saturday, everything changes. Who knows what's going on behind the scenes? Just reading through this thread and was going to post something very similar Grapey. If it has been decided that TP is indeed moving on in the summer, then there won't be another opportunity (but at the Spurs game) for the fans to show him appreciation for his time at Stoke. If his intended departure is announced during the week before the Spurs game, then it will kill two potential (and very opposite) birds with one stone. I want him gone in the summer but if I know he's leaving in the summer, then he'll be getting a (deserved) round of applause from me when he does his lap of honour at the end of the match, however if it appears there's still a very good chance that he'll be staying here next season, then my reaction might be somewhat different. The board would be mad to allow Pulis to do a lap of honour, with chants of 'Pulis Out' ringing round the ground, if they already know that he's going to be leaving in the summer anyway.

You really think there would be a mass anti Pulis demo during the lap of honour against Spurs if he hasn't yet been relieved of his duties?
How very unseemly.

I think there would definitely be boos and Pulis out chants mate, yep, without a shadow of a doubt. Which would be completely unneccessary if the decision has been made that he's leaving anyway. And if if there wasn't, it still wouldn't give the fans who want to show him appreciation for ALL he's done at Stoke while he's been here an opportunity to do so, if they don't know he's going.

Yeah - If he is going, I can't see what we really have to lose by announcing it a few days before Spurs. The game's already going to have a bit of a jamboree feel with , no doubt, the likes of Hudson, Greenhoff, Banks, Stein, Fuller etc being paraded around the pitch amongst other shenanigans. And it's the only chance to spin and shape the perception of the managerial change - certainly on a national level. If we miss the chance, it's gone forever. And perception is key. Coates will be the keenest of all to get as far away from the feel of a 'sacking' as he can. The whole stadium on their feet applauding TP off into the sunset would be just what he'd want. If we win on Saturday, you could name your own price for both Villa and Wigan getting to 41 and sending us down.

As I said at the end of last season Pulis is indeed leaving, been told it will be announced at Spurs game if we are safe. As a few have said massive changes next season in every department.[/quot What an absolute load of rubbish. Where do you get this tripe from? There will be no such announcement at any game and TP is here to stay!

I'm running out of ways to spell this out so I'll just try stating the bald fact one last time.
Whether we beat Norwich or not there is no way we will be safe or anything like it going in to the Spurs game.
As a consequence of that there is no way on the earth the incumbent (and soon to be outgoing in some people's opinion) manager will be jogging round the pitch doffing his cap at the adoring masses and generally milking the applause as the PA man announces his departure.
It simply won't happen until the Chairman knows the Premier League Sky money is safely in his pocket for next season.
Anything else would be sheer folly.

But, if he is going, then an announcement in advance of the Spurs game is by far the most sensible time to announce it - unless we are still shy of the safety mark.

We have another match don't we between Norwich and Spuds?? Wins against the Canaries and Blunderland would allow such an announcement to take place with reasonable certainty of Premier League football next season.

I'd be amazed if Wigan AND Villa got over 40 points, particularly as they have to play each other last day of the season. Can't see it happening.
Of course that's assuming that we actually get another three points.

Maybe if he stays and we get off to a bad start next season though.

I think we'll look like a bunch of twats to be honest. There will be a small amount of media interest in the 150th element of the game. Arguing at a Birthday never looks good.
The media will like it though.

Gods, it only takes Wigan to lose at home to Spurs and away to West Brom for them to be in an almost impossible position to overhaul us if we beat Norwich. We'd have 40 points and they'd be 9 behind us needing 10 points to overtake us given the huge disparity in the goal difference. Basically, if we beat Norwich, Wigan need 3 wins and a draw from their last 5 games to overtake us.
So, it isn't cut and dried at the moment but it could well be game over by the time we play Surs.

so.......no one knows anything then?
nothing new on here....
to be fair KKK did post this sort of thing last year
we all knew Lou Macari ws leaving in 1997 & we all knew Megson was going in 1999
If we are (officially) safe come the Spurs game & it is true & if it had been announced TP was off imho there would be sustained & loud applause for TP as a send off as (imho) vast majority of fans who want him out now do appreciate the other stuff (you know promotion, cup final,Europe, beating Arsenal a few times e.t.c.)
I agree with Paul though if there is a lap of honour & there is no announcement there could well be Pulis out chants

I know Lakeland, but we're surely not going to plan a sending off party for the manager on that balance of probabilities? And anyway the Chairman will want nothing to distract the manager and players from the job in hand here which is no less than our very future.
