Always rated this guy, not sure why he isn't getting a look in at the Albion.

Agree he's a good player mate but do we need another midfielder?

Agree he's a good player mate but do we need another midfielder? Yes, if Adam, Tonge and Edu (why sign him?) can be found new homes!

Couldn't see TP knowing what to do with him either, really.

Company would be a good signing though too

Am agreed he is a good creative player - always liked him. WB have a lot of good midfielders and he seems to be a bit inconsistent or perhaps they just have similar but better players.
I can't see him fitting in at Stoke though - Whelan has had a good season but although I would like to see an up-grade in the longer run I cannot see it being Dorrans. Besides I don't think midfield is out current priority.

Language problems? Can't work out the dollar to pound exchange rate? Seriously, are you suggesting we are paying a man probably about 20k a week to be someone's "best friend"?

Good player.
Could be a decent option to have in the squad.

Company would be a good signing though too Displacing Huth or Shawcross?

As a caring club we should make it policy for every player we sign to bring along a friend too.

Maurice Edu have played 42 times for his country for a reason. He wasn't signed just to give Cameron "company". That is just utter bollocks.
We will make a profit when selling him. Signed him on a free and sell him for, I don't know, a couple million? He sure is worth a few quid I reckon.

I'll be surprised if hes on that much, but yes pretty much, I think it was a big part of us signing him, we did the same for Fuller to keep him happy.

@chrislepkowski Re Dorrans story: #wba lose one midfr to AfCon for 5 weeks, another is injured, third is a kid just recalled from loan.
Dorrans was odd man out yesterday due to squad numbers. Doesn't mean he will be sold - more so when players are absent.
So he won't be allowed to leave easily on that basis. Secondly no club puts public valuations on players. Isn't done thing.
Clarke has made it very clear in past that Dorrans will be utilised. No 'first team' players will be leaving in Jan

I have tried making that point on here about 6 times now and it just falls on deaf ears ;D

So why did we sign him?
Nothing makes sense and the friend for Geoffrey is as plausible as any footballing reason. None make sense though.

He's there as a just in case I imagine, plus he gets us a bit more popularity in America. We signed 2 Americans this summer, did a pre-season tour of America and have an affiliate over there already in Orlando City (are they in for the next round of MLS expansion?)
We certainly seem to be trying to open avenues in America, even Tone said he wanted to manage there one day.

Why would anyone pay a couple of million for him? Well, like I said... - He has played for U.S.A. 42 times. - and he was a regular for Rangers wasn't he? I mean, why wouldn't anyone pay £1M-£2M for a player like that? We bought Tom Soares for £1.25M five years ago and his CV wasn't even half as impressive as Maurice's is.

He was but I think it means very little. There wasn't a clamour for his signature despite him being free, nevermind a fee being involved. Lots of clubs didn't want him on a free! 500k if we're lucky, especially after a years worth of doing fuck all.

Signed for £300,000 or thereabouts and never start a game. How do you appreciate in value to be worth a couple of million quid on that basis?

The lad's 26 years old, has got a lot of international experience, has played regularly for Rangers the last couple of years who bought him for £2.6M back in 2008, and he has now been contracted to a Premiership club for about 6 months (and so on). Give me your price then? I'd say about £1M, but you clearly seem to think I'm off base?
