They did terrific last season but I just hate Pardew and really really hate Mike Ashley. The way Hughton was pushed aside was completely pathetic. All last season I wanted Newcastle to suffer but it never happened. Instead now they have a manager and virtually a squad of 5 to 8 year contracts. Even when they were riding high to the Europa League that raised more than a few eyebrows. Now that they are playing more to their level the 8 year contract just looks like the madness of King Gearge. If Ashley weren't so rich then I'd be concerned that Newcastle were heading to administration.

With an eight year contract just signed, I'd imagine Pardew is hoping the fans get their wish! The sack should be worth a bob or two, I'd think?

They were never going to emulate last year's finish. I guess finishing where they did worked against Pardew as many expected the same again or even better. Were times last year when they were played off the park and still won games and that wasn't going to continue. To be fair at times they were excellent as well. They still have a good side let's not kid ourselves and a couple of wins and he'll be Messiah again

Newcastle have a great first eleven but their squad is a bit thin after that. They were lucky with injuries last season but have been a lot less so this time round. We're undoubtedly getting them at a good time and I really hope we can take full advantage of that...

Let's hope the Geordies do a good job for us and get on his and the teams backs from the off. Though Cisse and Ba are very talented I think they're also very easily demotivated by critiscm and not the tin hat hat types.

The truth is they had a lucky run last season and are now in their rightful place.

However I'm inclined to agree. the extra Europa games and injuries, coupled with a not so positive atmosphere at the club due to over inflated ego's is taking it's toll. A win on the cards for us I think. I can see us steam rolling them.

Lets be honest its no different to other fans looking at us like we are idiots because theres an element that want TP out too. The difference is that the vast majority on here think they are idiots as well. On the Cartoons board it is about 50:50. Good old March - he trots out the 'vast majority' stat to support his argument knowing full well that he has no idea of what that majority want as they have never been asked!!

This is THE game where i'd like us to take our chances. Night game too so we'll hopefully have a good atmosphere.

I agree about the idiots who want TP out, but it's a different case with Newcastle. They're in a realistic position at the moment, last season the momentum they gained early in the season carried them forward, a bit like us after the FA Cup Quarter Final against West Ham. Since when do football fans deal in realism ;D We found last season that a good previous season raises everyones expectations. Newcastle are now finding that out too. Also as far as they are concerned Pardew has the ghost of Keegans mid 90's heyday to compete with too.

It could be funny to see how long Ashley perseveres with Pardew if he now goes on one of the prolonged crap spells he's known for.
He could really struggle if they sell Cabaye and maybe Tiote, and if he spends big money bringing Carroll back.

A couple of seasons ago when everybody was on Wengers 'Stoke City play rugby' bandwagon and Pardarses pre-match interview went something along the lines of them coming to the Brit to play the beautiful game against our bullying, hoofball style. Went home with his tail firmly up his arse after 4-0 spanking. A score which still remains our PL biggest win. The man is a self-opinionated muppet.
