Who do you feel should be next seasons captain? In all honesty i don't think it should be griffin, he can't hack it in the prem anymore, proven.. too slow unfortunately. (providing we do go up)
Lawrence? or Whelan? somebody young, and ambitious who will show real passion for the cause!

Out of our current crop of players i agree Lawrence, but hopefully we might be able to bring in an experienced leader in pre-season.

Lenny - has to be!
Never say die atttude & will lead by example!
Just as long as he doesn't talk Parkin into taking his shirt off.

I think we're being a bit harsh on Griff. Yes he's been out of sorts for quite a while now but he's been playing out of position. He is an excellent left back and has been doing his bit for the team to the detriment of his own game, we can't hold that against him. Having said that, I'd give the arm band to Delap next season no matter what division we're in. (Shawcross will definitely be captain material in a year or two).

sammz - i agree delap is a good player, who has come on so much this season. he seems to be getting better with each game. however do you not think he lacks that bit of passion, or the ability to show it? not exactly a driving force in midfield..

undicided because we dont no what experience we could bring in the summer out of our current team it would be lawrence he shuld be now instead of griffin who i notice does not talk at all to the players lawrence supports and the team and encourages them which is exacly what we need. however i wouuld like to see jimmy bullard to be captain if we were to sign him ;D not to mension his freekicks are quality . can anyone remeber the last time we had a quality freekick taker?

i think liam should be left to concentrate on being our main attacking option. id stick with griff but put him back into his correct position which should allow him to get his form back.

If we go up I suspect next season's captain may not even be on the books yet. Bringing in a proven leader at the back would be my first priority if I was TP. Chris Riggott anyone?

I'd still have griff as he has the experience
I'd keep Matteo as part of the squad for his experience, even if he doesn't play much
but if i had to choose a new captain it would be liam
waha finally broken into the reserves!

Lawrence- Shawcross will be one for the future. Id second that one. Lenny would be a superb captain as all the players respect him and he shouts it about on the pitch. Shawcross is a leader for the future.

Whoever it is has to be 100% certain of a starting place when fit. I'd expect at least 5 new first team players to join in the summer (if we get promoted) so to pick a captain from the current squad would be silly until we know who we have available. Of the current squad Lawrence would be my choice with Delap a close second but let's wait and see what options there are.

Out of the current crop of players i'd struggle to name a captain. Lawrence gets himself too many silly bookings for opening his gob to much, he'd need to learn to keep it shut if he became captain. Although he's still young i'd be tempted to give it to Ryan.
