Born in Stoke, moved to Darmstadt, Germany a couple of years ago.
try to get back for games when i can, but its mainly internet streams at the moment
for my live footie fix i've resisted the draw of nearby top flight Eintracht Frankfurt so its instead taken up with 3rd division SV Darmstadt 98. (who are complete rubbish but you've got to support your local team!)

Costs me about 40 quid a month for every live prem match - and they show them all again during the days in-between matches.

StokIE - Stokies In Exile ::: The Google Pushpin MapTemporarily abroad and need a cheese-filled, oat-based snack? Maybe a StokIE can help ... (please phone first! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) ) Click this ... - Viewing the Map requires you have Google Earth installed
- The "pins" are coloured RED (I don't just throw this stuff together!)
- If you "untick" all other Places in the left menu of Google Earth - Just leaving this set ticked - And then zoom out to about 10-kilometers - You can spin around the global and spot us all quiet easily (or just click on a name in the list)
There's loads more of us away-from-home than this ... So hopefully more of us check in over the next few weeks (before I get bored and forget about it all )I want on this Map!!1. To save me a ton of work ... You must live outside the land-boundaries of England, Scotland and Wales (off the island!) 2. You must specify a TOWN and that town must be recognised by Google (so give me the country too) 3. You must post in THIS thread 4. I'll update the list as-and-when (monthly at worst) 5. Hobos will be banned from listing (if I get fed up of updating you!) So, I need a TOWN from the following people already in the thread:- Gunslinger - Norway
- Eddy - New Zealand
- joseSR - Norway
- Claus_SCFC - Denmark
- nzstokie - New Zealand
- shanghaipotter - Jomtien Thailand (doesn't exist!)
- pinoypotter - Philipines (I don't think that's your little island ... does it have a name?)
And, mistergumby - If I got the placement correct?? - I am jealous as f**k!!!! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif) Strange, I used to live in Jomtien but I bow to your superior knowledge ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/3zptH1h3SvRnVmRGLyMP.gif)

AndyHar - tremendous stuff - look forward to seeing more and more push-pins showing up.
In terms of watching Stoke from stateside - couple of options. We get Fox Soccer Channel as part of a sports package add-on to our cable package (probably costs about $5 a month on top of the cable bill), and occasionally Stoke are live on there (mainly if playing the top 4-6). We also crop up on ESPN2 for the early Saturday game - and that channel is standard in most cable packages.
Other games might be on Fox Soccer Plus, but I've never signed up for that, as the online live streaming covers every game that isn't on FSC or ESPN2. The online subscription for Fox Soccer is about $20 a month, and after some early hitches, the quality now is excellent. The subscription includes an app for iPhone/iPad, which makes it very easy to watch when not at home.
Right now seems to be a bit of a golden era for Prem coverage in the States - the last day of last season, I had five games streaming at once, via tv, two laptops, a phone and a tablet. All this might change very soon though - Prem tv rights for 2013-16 are up for sale (I think the bidding is going on right now), and beIN Sport is supposed to be making a play for a lot of the Fox stuff. Main worry is if they win and then scale back (or jack up the cost) of the online streaming. Anyway, better enjoy this season in case it all goes tits up...

Best channel is Sporstnet ( ex Setanta) costs $15 per month & well worth it.

In Romblon, Romblon, Philippines. Our premier league TV coverage here comes from ESPN Star Sports, get a fair few live games and more re-runs thro' the week. Can't complain as monthly subscription for whole TV package is only about a tenner a month. Down side is Steve McMahon features as a pundit too often!!
