Pussy alert! Pussy alert! Umm, good one? Anyhow.. built an awesome silver hybrid, have 320k left now ;D Just gonna trade to 1million oh kaaaay, guess you missed the smiley. Anyway, would anyone say that this is a good bit of business... After a few days I've managed to accumulate 15K in contract trades. Having the mobile app at work has certainly helped. Anywy, I thought i'd have a go at player trading so I brought Joao Moutinho for around 2.5K (some weird formation), brought a 4-4-2 player formation card for 2.2K and then applied it to him. So now I have a CM, 84 rated, 4-4-2 player that I'm trying to sell. Total investment 5K. What do people think I could get for him? I've seen other similar players selling for quite a bit more.

Why would you buy a 442 card? It's the most expensive of the lot.
Stay clear of 433/442/41212
The easiest and most simply way to make money is buy low sell high. Think of ANY player on the game. Find his lowest buy now, then search and buy for any under that price. Easy money

So if I convert him to a 4-4-2 player I could sell him for a lot more than I paid. Unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way and I actually managed to find him cheaper as a 442 than I paid for him before I converted him. I'm still making a bit on contracts and have made a couple of K on buying/selling player formation cards. Making a few hundred profit per card. Is there a disadvantage to buying older players? for example, Berbatov is pretty cheap... I assume that younger players have the potential to improve then? Players don't retire in this mode do they?

Be careful with the older players, if you keep hold of them for 10 games, you have to pay out 30,000 coins for their testimonial.

Also do what Ryan said, search specific players, buy low sell high. I made about 20,000 in an hour yesterday doing this, I just haven't got the patience to do it for too long.

I don't have enough coins yet to risk buying an expensive player.
What I have got so far though is half a gold team, 7K and Pulis as a manager.
I've gone for a 4-4-2 formation (rather than a 433) as although these players are more expensive, they're less than the 433 players and formation cards (I find).
I'm screwed if I have to pay for testimonials.

Yeah testimonials can be a pain but it's gotta be done.
Also, managers do nothing, so sell/get rid of any you have. Seriously they're so pointless. Try and go for a cheap formation too. 442 is the way too expensive and if you're just starting, use a 4411 formation which is basically the same but 2k per player cheaper.

Thought managers with the right formation increased the chemistry by 10-15 points? Mine does anyway.

They increase +10 if right formation, and +1 for every same nation player.
So if you have Redknapp managing an all England team he'll raise your overall chem by 21.
However, overall team chem means fuck all in terms of how your team players and in game play in general.
The only thing that matters is individual chemistry. A player gets 3 if he's in right formation, 3 if in right position, and the other 3 comes from links/players around him.
So basically to have a high chem team you need all your players in the right formation and position, no bollocks like a CDM at LB or a ST at RM.
Plus, when players are on 9 out of 9 chem, they get a little boost in stats.
The only thing managers are good for are the % boost on contracts, but that gives you like 1 extra game for each card ;D
Seriously, managers=pointless, it does the same for your club as a stadium/ball/kit, more money for EA.

FYI - I have a first 11 gold team - 442.
Also, last night I played someone from here called Twilight-something.
Whoever it was, was lucky to get that equaliser towards the end of the game. Next time they won't be so lucky.
Now I guess I can actually start playing with my team. All the credits I accrued thus far have been through trading. Now that I have a full team though I can start saving for the top players.

Didn't know that about a boost in stats - nice one! Im finding the extra coins boost per game played useful from the EAS FC catalogue. Took me a while to find out that too! Duh!

foster I'd advise you change your gamertag. On the Oatie I've seen you post 3 different GT's and all of them don't work ;D
What's your actual gamertag?
Actually scrap that just add me: RSummers38

I have a mint hybrid team with Beckham, Liam Lawrence, Delap, Pirlo and Giggs.
I forgot about the testimonial and now my club's bankrupt. I never knew it was possible to owe EA money.

I don't recall you hitting the post? I remember you having a one on one v my keeper and kicking it out for a throw in though. I'll let you practice your finishing before we play again. Do you think 6 months is enough time?

Foster how many games are you in? Get ready for your testimonials. I was a bit stumped but its good if you prepare I've been saving coins. Got 150K put aside for 5 testimonials. Passed off a good opportunity to get Messi on the cheap so I hope these testi's are worth it. Ps - played about 7 or 8 games so far. Spending all my time trading on the mobile app.

Packs are a waste. Think about it, in the premium ones you get 12 cards, 3 rare. Out of them 12 cards it's roughly split like this.. 1 manager/coach 2-4 Players 3/4 Contratcs 2/3 Fitness/Player cards like dribbling 2/3 Kits/Badges/Stadium/Ball You get 3 rare, usually 1 is contract, 1 is a fitness/manager/stadium/kit/badge. So it's already quite rare that you're going to get a rare player. If you are lucky enough to get a rare player, there are around 1,000-2,000 rare gold players in the game. And only around 50 gold players are worth more than 30/40k. So even if one of your rares is a player, it's very very unlikely you will get one of the top players, like I said probably 50/2,000 and that's just the rares, imagine all the non rares too. Wow! My best is Busquets, who is 85 rate so I was very lucky to have got him, unfortunately he's only worth 5k. Still better than a Dean Whitehead. Basically packs are shit

Just got this Nigerian striker, quite fast for 3.2k. Spartak player, cant remember his name. Actually got 2 so I put the other up for sale at 4.9k which s just below the lowest buy now price I've seen.
Am trying to get a good deal now on either Remy or Wellington to complete my strike force.

Ooooh I see. You're the guy who doesn't look at any other stat apart from the PACE one Emenike is the guy you're on about, he's quality. 90 pace and 90 strength makes him like a super fast Drogba. Remy is wank, do not get him. Wellinton(not Wellington) is also shit, he is so weak. Try get someone else
