I could almost understand the hunting instinct if it was a case of someone in the wild with just a bow and arrow and the chance that a bear or a big cat could actually stand a chance and eat you but where the fuck was the sport in sitting in a hideout about 10 yard away from farm reared animals impassively drinking at a water hole? I'd like to see how macho that fat fooker yank would be without a weapon - wanker would have a heart attack before you could hit him!
It was almost a metaphor for American capitalist imperialism - travel the world and kill whatever you want as long as you can afford the price.
Theroux's great - he can ingratiate himself with these pricks and ask questions in such a way that they end up incriminating themselves.

It says it all really. The foolish yanks travel half way around the world, pay $ 1000s to shoot what is nothing more than an Antelope. To make it easier for the thick turd Americans the animals are lured to with a few feet of them with food and water. Some of these animals are so use to people that they don't move even when a van passes feet away from them, just right for your average yank hunter!
Hunting my arse!!!

Theroux's great - he can ingratiate himself with these pricks and ask questions in such a way that they end up incriminating themselves. He is probably the best I've seen out of the 'investigative journalists' at just giving his subjects enough rope to hang themselves. His whole amenable persona aids him with this, and his best weapon is just knowing when to keep his mouth shut and having the other person keep talking to fill the void. Is a great technique. The opposite to this is Paxman, equally brilliant (probably even more so) but has a completely different style.
