Chiper, I reckon if I was drinking a heady cocktail of Lemon AND Orange barley water with cup of tea chasers all night I'd feel like I'd been on the lash when I woke up!

That's a good un Ilford but a bit sweet for me- the dry far more drinkable but depends what you like. 'Old Rascal' is worth checking out if you're down that neck of the woods again- little bit less flat. Wouldn't mind a glass of Hecks that though to be honest fella

I like their medium, but found the dry a bit much for my palllet , I also like it still , many of my formative drinking years wear spent on Scrumpy , used to get Weston's Old Rosie

There's another nice one called 'Old Cock' Dave but the idea of asking for 4 dry old cocks kind of puts me off buying it Like a bit of fizz in it to be honest, was a great scrumpy shop in Canterbury, not sure if still there.

Wasn't going to drink tonight (not going to the pub 'cos I need the cash for my season ticket fund) but after reading this thread I might nip down the corner shop and see what delights they have on special offer.

Cut and paste description.............. 'Hmmmmmm. Interesting name, but whatsit like as a drink? Ummm, well not very scrumpish is my own opinion. Fairly sweet but pleasantly drinkable enough. I hate to admit it, cuz this is quite a negative thing to say about an english cider...but the taste sorta reminded me of the "Hard" ciders of the United States. If yer a cider drinker and have visited the U.S, you will know that isn`t a very good thing. There`s nothing wrong with this cider, but the "scrumpy" mentioned in its name is a bit deceiving. True cider drinkers stay away.' Think a bit harsh- is a bit sweet but didn't remind me of American ciders at all - still is about opinions

Just a thought, the drinking guidlines say that if... A. Youdrink alone you've got a problem, well mar ladys in bed so yep, alone. B. If you drink to get drunk you have a problem, well if i wanted to stay sober I'd be on H2O, a darn sight cheaper.
So outta curiosity how many of you are drinking alone and are drinking to get drunk?

None of us are drinking alone, we are in the virtual pub that is the Oatcake of a friday night, and I'm not drinking to get drunk, if I was I'd be on the vodka its a darn sight quicker .
Half way down my 4th and its finally taking the veneer off my sobriety
