Coming straight from a...... ......negative tool!!! Funny that! Negative management always has and always will get a negative response from supporters. A lot of fans won't accept a manager who puts their club and team down at any given opportunity, a manager who instills or at least trys to instill fear into the supporters. A clubs supporters expect the club and manager to be positive. IMO it's actually the so called negatives on here that are positive about the club because they will not accept negativity from the manager, they expect a positive manager with a positive outlook and for it to filter down through the team and tactics, not the shite TP serves up and spouts on about. PULIS OUT. Positively muppetlike. Negatives are positives and positives are negatives. I hope you never have to wire a plug.

If Pulis is so brilliant then how come he's never been linked with a bigger job?? Not even come close.
In his favour he's not the sort of disloyal cretin that would tout his sen to every job going, but the question still stands.. If he is as fantastic as the rimmers claim, then why is he not even aforethought for the bigger clubs.
Outside of Stoke he's not particularly rated, wonder why that is? Perhaps it's the fact he's an average manager who's backed heavily by his chairman...
I can acknowledge he's not a total clown, but have some ambition ffs. Where do you want Stoke to be in 5 years time? Still taking the shortsighted route spending £25m a year on names that have seen better days.. That's negative.
How about building a team that can evolve as a group, you know young players he can mold/coach/improve. I'd happily take a couple of seasons going ''backwards'' if it meant we were to prosper for years to come. That way we can become self-sufficient, not rely on millions every year, blossom from a scouting network that concentrates on finding young talent with potential.
It's negative to think the current way is the only way, It won't last, it's built on sand. .

He hasn't been linked with any other jobs because it's no secret in football that Pulis and Coates have a fantastic relationship and neither will part with the other. The relationship between chairman and manager is probably stronger at Stoke City than any other club. If Alex Ferguson is so good, why isn't he linked with other jobs?

Manchester United are not the biggest club in the world anymore, in fact you could argue they're not even the biggest club in the country My point stays the same; why hasn't Ferguson been sought after by the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid?

The world is open to debate.. But any twat can acknowledge they're easily the biggest club in England. He will consider himself to be at the pinnacle, he simply wouldn't move to any other club in the world. Please don't use the same argument for TP, You'd just look silly.

The relationship between chairman and manager is probably stronger at Stoke City than any other club. If Alex Ferguson is so good, why isn't he linked with other jobs? The shocking relationship between Brendan Rodgers and his chairman led him, after one season in the Premier League being easy pickings for Liverpool? No doubt Aston Villa swooped to take Paul Lambert after catching wind of an irretrievable relationship breakdown after the Scot commented that he thought Deliah's pastry was a little crumbly for his liking? Come on now. I know Im being flippent but you know as well as the next chap the reason that every other manager who is successful with a less glamerous Premier League club attracts the attention of the bigger clubs with the one glaring exception. The real no secret in football is that the supporters of other clubs simply wouldn't stand for it. Can you imagine Tone rocking up at Anfield and tearing up the "Liverpool Way" manual of pass and move to the applause of the Kop? Would there be waves of adoration tumbling down from the Holt End when they arrived at Villa Park to find the pitch shortened to the minimal legal dimensions requiring those near the back to use binoculars to see where the goal line was? No board in the Premier League would dare touch him for fear of the supporter backlash even if they believed he could save them from the drop by his methods.. No supporter of any other club in the Premier League is going to want a manager whose blueprint is to reduce football down to the most minimal basics. Deciding to be prepared to support the Pulis approach is perfectly understandable given that the club has wallowed in shit for decades and he has been part of the solution that has got us back to respectability status wise. I just dont see how people kid themselves that the methods are something any other clubs already established in the Premier League would possibly aspire to. Its bugger all to do with the love match between Pulis and Coates (which is interestingly and perhaps tellingly on the lips of Tone rather more than talked about by St Peter) No Premier league club supporter outside our club would want to see their club turning out the football that could easily be ranked the most basic in any of Europes major top flight divisions. Im not even convinced the majority of Stoke supporters can be counted on to have never ending patience with it. Surely no one really requires the reason Fergie at Manchester United and Pulis at Stoke City are untouched by other club's approaches explaining? That is just being daft. Pulis has not the option to go anywhere because there is nowhere to go other than back down the ladder. Its not a crime to admit it.

I'm reading a book at the minute about Barcelona by Graham Hunter. Barca have tried to get Fergie on numerous occasions, the last was going to be in about 2010 if Guardiola left then.

I suppose 90% of threads on here are just rehashing the same stuff whether its TP's failings/attributes, racism, Whelan's failure to deliver Beckham like passes, etc etc. What I find especially annoying about this thread is the "what if...." bollocks. As others have pointed out its a pretty sad reflection on some Stokies that, after the recent seasons we have experienced, they are busy contemplating the downfall of one of the key reasons for our recent successes. Hypothetical bollocks. How about "What if all Stokies put aside their personal issues with the manager and focus on supporting the team?". Trust in Tone. Which I've just realised could be abbreviated to T.I.T. before a smart ass like Pugs or RAF points it out.

If we changed Pulis for Mr believe his own hype Rodgers or Quitter Lambert I'd be gutted. At this point in time Pulis is vastly superior to the both of them. Norwich were abysmal at the Brit last season and Swansea not much better yet the usual suspects are happy to jump on any passing Mike Newell bandwagon.

Lots of managers talk about loyalty and the "honour" of managing a club. Very few prove it. Pulis is one of a select few in the game at the moment. Whatever his footballing philosophy (or lack of!!!) it seems obvious to me that he is genuinely honoured and proud to manage our club.
