Let me explain. Me and my friend left Deal at 8.30 sat morning, we knew the game might be called off, but the weather was good so we decided to go. Its 250 miles to Stoke from our place, We made our way up and decided to go to the Brit first to go and buy some goodies, we arrived at 12.15 . As soon as we got there we parked up right next to Marcus Hall's 4x4. Then he got out !!! of course the first thing we said is, Marcus is the game on? We all know the reply he gave us, We started started to tell him about our nice journey up, then something strange happened, He seemed to be genuinly upset about our plight, he even said sorry ! which he had nothing to be sorry about !!! We then went on to meet gnw, cutler, pornstar, clarke, halls and taggart, and they all talked to us and said they were gutted and were sorry ! Taggart even said that Stoke was better the Leicster now he was here ( after I prompted him ) He seemed very very happy to be here. Anyway I thought I would tell you all about my experiance, maybe the players care a bit more about the club than we sometimes give them credit for. But for crewe they are wank, they build a nice new bigish stand and it stops the sun coming in, you thick basterds............. Ps, Jonny halls and GNW are more cokney than my mate, and he's form Tottenham.

Becks, not like you to undersell the club. We lost 4-2 to Rhyl not 4-1. ;D

They are top blokes with the fans at heart...until they can get ten quid a week more at Macclesfield and they say "Bollox to Stoke!!" Cynical moi? ???

You're right Joe, what loyalty did Kyle Lightbourne show when he got offered a contract by Macclesfield? ??? ??? He just left us and we never recovered and still havn't got any player anywhere near his quality. I man what sort of replacements are Ade, Saarbs and GNW for a man of Kyle's stature. ;D ;D

Thats it RRP. He's worried we won't cope without him. Who will carry the boxes of pies into the catering kiosks if he leaves us? Expensive pie carrier but still!

Hello there Becks. All right mate?
Remember though, that in the main they are just doing a job. True, they might still be aware of whats happening but much of that will be from talking to mates who are still with us as opposed to really caring that SCFC are doing well.

You right the are just doing a job, but you do hear horror stories of fans talking to players and the players just turn round and say sod off, On satdee I was talking to some mates in Longton b4 we came home, and one of them were saying he asked John Ritchie for an autograph, and the player pushed him aside and told him to get lost !!!!
So in the same token it was nice of the players to take the time and be friendly.

Ritchie was a moody bugger. I met him a few times and he was nice as pie - other times you would just get a grunt out of him - if you were lucky. Something which amazes me (given the past 20 years of dross served up by the club) is the number of players who chose to settle in the area when their careers were over. Many ex Stoke players (plus Macari) moved from club to club yet chose Stoke as the place to put their roots down when they hung up their boots. I suppose that is a tribute to the friendliness of the locals - give yourself a pat on the back, Stokies.

No, I thought overnight about the lack of effort Crewe seemed to be putting in to get the match on and decided in the morning that there was at least a one in three chance of it being off. At those odds I wasn't going to drive 500 miles - especially with another chance to get my Stoke "fix" on Tuesday. As it turned out I made the right decision - still gutted for those like you who did travel long distances though.

I know it looked bad, but the weather was ok so we risked it, I cant even go 2morro I was gutted when porn star said he was in the same hotel as the ref, and the ref said friday night that there were'nt much chance of the game being on, even though he wanted it to go ahead. It's the new stand they have, it stops the light getting in, 3/4 of the pitch were fine.

Yes only Crewe would build just one decent stand - and put it on the wrong side of the ground!

Quite right fornside! Surely it should have been built behind the goal at the Railway End, facing the station?

They'd build a stand to double as a station, so in boring games r pre/post match they can do a spot of trainspotting
