How weird? I was aked this very question this very lunchtime and my answer was unhesitating:
Beagrie's goal is the best Stoke goal I've ever seen, it was amazing to see him get closer and closer, and when he scored the mental on the Boothen End was positively dangerous.
BEAGRIE EVERY TIME FOR ME

March4 i think you wil find that Mr Ball was responsible..To this day i still blame the the Mills out brigade. The job Mid table Mick did bit us on the arse for years.I remember a League Cup defeat to Leyton Orient and the stupid reaction afterwards, they wanted Mills out. They got there wish. What happened? Listen to the bile from the clown yesterday. He has shown nothing but contempt for our club from the word 'go'. Our relegation was down to Beagrie as much as anyone else. What a crock of fucking shite. Alan Ball, appointed by Peter Coates, was the sole reason we went down. Was Beagrie also to blame for the following season when we had to put up with Mick Kennedy et al? Portsmouth apart, Alan Ball couldn't manage a big dinner.

Mick Kennedy, One of the few players I'm ashamed to say played for Stoke! Nothing but a thug masquerading as a footballer

Peter Hoekstra's at Watford wasn't bad, took it on his chest, turned & volleyed it in the top corner. Stefan Thordarson's pile drive from the wing v Charlton at the Brit in the league cup in Extra time wasn't bad either.

Peter Beagrie one of the most overrated players ever to don the red and white. A complete show pony. Must have been a nightmare to play with. Beat the defender seventeen times then put in a piss poor cross. His goal at Bournemouth was very good but for solo efforts you can't beat some of Mark Chamberlains, now he was a proper winger.
As for Crouchs pure class from a very good player. The level we are playing at and the quality of the keeper made it very special indeed.

It has to be Crouch! Beagrie scored against Bournemouth!!! Crouch top goal v top opposition. He meant it, he executed it and it was bloody fantastic!. Also Beagrie is a twat.

Beagrie's was a piece of brilliant dribbly skill and Crouchy's was a piece of opportunism and more of a strikers goal.

Haha, yeah I suppose Beagrie meant it....😄 but the quality of the opposition comes into it. AND the fact that he is a twat. 😳

At the end of 88/89 SCFC put out a video with all our home goals on it. It was on that. Quality was poor.

In all fairness it was from before the days when TV cameras were present at every game and each little movement and fart was recorded and analysed.

There's a video on ebay at the moment of the Stoke 4 West Brom 3 from 1992 but the seller states that there is a sticker on the video apologising for poor sound quality! why was our recording facilities so poor? I have the Port Vale v Stoke FA cup tie from 1992 and despite the wettest conditions I have ever watched a match in the quality of recording is very good.

That Vale game was on telly so it might just be SKY recorded off telly

No its actually a Port Vale produced video with their own interviewers etc, I bought it from a car boot sale about 4 years ago for 20p and then sold it on ebay for £18 but before I did I transferred it onto dvd for myself! I don't usually want recordings where we lose hence I don't have the FA cup final but this Vale game was a classic with the Dave Regis stick in the mud and all that! the video brings back memories of the night as at one point someone has to wipe the rain off the camera lens! Ps=one of the interviewers was a Stokie who was the regular P.A. guy at The Vic in the late 80's/early 90's if anyone can put a name to him?
