During a sunday league football game this morning 13 year old Liam Wood sadly lost his life. I dont actually know the young lad however was on the next pitch. thoughts go out to his family such a sad sad loss at a young age from all at Catle Borough F.C RIP young man

not sure what caused it however i have heard from someone who was watching the game that he had scored went to celebrate with his Granndad and collapsed...his dad is away on honeymoon.....its just awful so so sad.

Well lets hope they managed to contact his dad. A football message board wouldn't be the best way for him or any other relative to hear the news.

I coach an under 7's side. Step son also plays for the team.

I think the lads age on here at 13 maybe wrong,my son has just told me his mates older brother who he said is about 18 to 20 and has the same name died whilst playing football this morning.

That's tragic and shocking at the same time - I coached my lads team this morning and that sort of thing is the furthest t from.your mind. Cant get my head around it
