Its just started snowing down here (Peterboro) so lets hope its moving south. I won't be able to make it if its re-arranged to a mid-week game .

I wouldn't get your hopes up, Crwho don't exactly have a good track (geddit record of getting games on when the weather's frosty. Didn't they call a game at home to Man City off a couple of years ago at 1 o'clock? That was a sell-out too.

If you look on the BBC stoke & staff site they have a 'live' webcam of crewe town centre. There isn't even a flake of snow on the ground! (then again it's not exatly what I'd calll live -apparently its thursday 2nd of October 2003 ) www.bbc.co.uk/stoke/webcams/crewe.shtml

Just come in and have got to say that it's not looking good. Don't want to sound negative but i don't think Crwho will want the match played so there ground staff won't be trying to hard and the police would probably welcome a night match instead of saturday afternoon, so our only hope is that the sun comes out and gets rid of it!

How about sending some of this snow to us in Iceland. It is getting embarrassing to live in a country having this cold name and having less snow than centre of England. ;D ;D ;D ;D

It's actually freezing in Crewe, -1 at the mo.
my driveway was frozen solid and had to leave my car at home. Only a few flakes of snow but it is bitterly cold and getting colder.
They are renowned for having games called off and yes man City fans were in the pubs when that one was called off.
Small club, small mentality. Don't be surprised. There is serious worry re trouble in town and wouldnt be surprised if crewe are happy with re-arranging.

Be pretty gutted if it's off!
Now you know why clubs like Vale and Crewe are so jealous of our ground!

You mean the ground we don't even own etc etc etc???
I did read a post that said Crew.e get no help from the local council with the stadium etc which means they have trouble staging matches in cold weather.
And they have the cheek to blab about the council and us etc.
at least we are capable of putting a match on in all weathers.

Pitch inspection tomorrow at 12 - according to Tel who has just rung them. That's a pain - I should be 150 miles into my journey by then. Exiles don't get a very good deal from home or away clubs I'm afraid. Its beginning to look as if I may not bother to travel unless some positive news comes out by tomorrow morning. Still I can make up for it on Tuesday as our game is likely to be on unless there is heavy snow which gets into the stands.

PP, it said on the Radio this morning the worst of the snow is over so touch wood, we may be OK. Needs to start clearing pretty sharpish though. Cheers to Tel by the way! Jon

The only reason Crwho? have games called off after a bit o' snow is 'cos their young team of boys are frolickin' 'pon the Gresty pitch, makin' snowmen an' chuckin' snowballs at housemaster Gradi...what larks, Pip...what larks!

Lads, its not the thought of any new snow that worries me - its a frozen pitch. Unless a thaw sets in the pitch seems likely to stay frozen in the shadow of the towering stands at Gresty Road! ;D I have to balance the (possible) loss of £16-50 spent on my ticket against the £50 (possibly) wasted petrol money not to mention 8 hours driving when I could be doing something more constructive.

Here in the Staffs Moorlands it tends to get a wee bit colder than the rest of the area and I'm happy to report the snow is well on its way to melting away in the sunshine. I've just had a walk along the lawn and it will take a stud so no excuses for Crewe not to get the game on.

The only good thing about it being called off is it'll give us (more of a ) chance to play Eustace, Clarke, Hoekstra and Gifton.
Still, fingers crossed Baracouda is right!
