Defoe and Pulis got on very well last week and he plays very well with Crouch so are we to read anything into this? I think he's hinting at the Lukaku deal personally.

A few days ago, I did a bit of 'googling' and came up with the following list of players who have been 'linked' with Stoke as far as the January transfer window goes: Michael Uchebo Mohamed Diame Wilfried Zaha Jay Rodriguez Jacob Butterfield Nathaniel Clyne Jeffrey Schlupp Junior Hoilett Liam Ridgewell Albert Adomah That little lot was found in about 10 minutes.

I'd rather have Fellaini than Cahill to be honest, if we are after a midfielder from Everton.

How much would it take to prise away Jarvis from Wolves ... 10 million?
Is he worth it? Would they sell? Would he come? Would we pay it?
He's exactly what we need ...
???

Lukaku has featured for Anderlecht and Chelsea this season. He cannot play for a third club this season. We tried in the summer, Everton have already enquired for January and have been told the same.
London based Prem Striker for me is Defoe.

I'm pretty sure Pulis is a long time admirer as well paul. Didn't he try to sign him from Gillingham years back, but Jarvis picked wolves? I agree by the way. Genuine pace and dribbling ability, and a good age. He just lacks the consistency of his final ball, but if he had that he'd be at a top 4 club i suppose. I think £10m would be about right for him in todays market too.

Diame would be worth a punt, looked like he could fit in to a stoke side imo.

We don't need a 'back-up' for Matty and JP, we need somebody who's as good or (even) better than them.

Pennant changed the game when he came on and it was another assist for Etherington today (I'm referring more to his assists last season, rather than this). He had a good game today, but Wolves supporters seem to feel that he's been off the boil for quite a while, and were saying that his selection for the England squad was based more on his form in the previous season than his form last year. Then again, Etherington is 30. That worries me, for a winger who uses pace.

He'd be a good player, certainly a good option. Just not a realistic one for me. Then again, we definitely need a winger who can play either flank. Are we supposed to get in somebody mediocre? We should only ever buy better than what we've got. In short, I'm in two minds. I'm not sure we could attract him without promising immediate first team football. Then again, if by January 1st we're still in 8th and Wolves are in the bottom 3, he might be tempted to jump ship.

well despite sometimes during the summer window, we all got frustrated with dave, i am glad he's back. The problem was that people were taking his word as gospel, which of course it isn't, even if he's ITK or not? Don't forget that Baines, Ridgewell and Defoe have been mentioned on here before dave started this thread so people shouldn't take it too seriously

I think IF Wolves accepeted a bid then he'd join. In terms of wingers who are as good as what we have, and fit the tp profile, as well as having premier league experience, then i'd say Jarvis is possibly the most realistic target out there at the minute.

I don't think there's too many players who would stay at Wolves if they thought they had a fair crack of first team football at the Brit. The key issues for me would be ... would Wolves sell and would he have any better options than us, if they would?

I'll eat my own hair if we sign baines, but it would be absolutely incredible. I feel sorry for Jerome if we buy a fast striker. He won't get a look in at all Thank the lord, Jerome is shite as his miss testified in Besiktas. Welcom back Dave I love this thread.
