"Fire up the Quattro" Classic line from Ashes to Ashes last night. Loved Gene Hunts entry and first line to the guy holding the girl "Today in you diary it will say shot by three bastards"
And when the female copper asked what was wrong and he replied "you in those leathers, holding that gun is giving me the horn"
Roll on next week

Got to say absolute quality last night. My other half was sat there completley confused by it all. The cortina cop cars made me laugh, and Hunt is spot on as usual.

I was worried it was going to be a bit too similiar to the opening episode of Life on Mars what with tthe inevitable "What am I doing here..? confusion but it seems she's read and knows about Sam's travels.
Now, if Life on Mars was all a fantasy world how did she get to read his 'delusions' as they were only written near the end of the previous series... Hmmm.

Sam returned briefly to the present time before " throwing himself " back to the 1970's !!
Presumably he wrote his report which she had read in this brief period ???

MILD SPOILER BELOW
Ah well, my theory always was that Sam saw what it would be like if he went back to the present day and didn't actually go through the white light in the tunnel (Geddit?) but turned back from peace to help his friends in the railway fight. - in effect that the 'return' sequences were all a 'what if' moment

A reasonable theory but..... I'm sure Alex referred to Sam's " Suicide " which would prove he had actualy returned ??? Anyway loved LOM and so far so good with Ashes to Ashes

I personally thought it was rather cak compared to Life on Mars.
Gene and the gang seem very typecast already. If it wasn't for the nostalgia I am not sure people would watch it.
What are they gonna do next time, the 90's??? Just like the second series of Life on Mars - Same old same old.
