In a 2-2 draw at st james park. Over 38,000 in attendance, some proper old school chanting. Anyone there?

Thanks roots.

That kit was quality!!!!! Played in it twice to my knowledge (Ajax away UEFA Cup 2nd Leg) and drew both games....never lost in it......lucky kit, bring it back plus the original black and white one as worn by the Messiah to the left!!!!

Brilliant video. Interesting that our goals - both very decent - are greeted by polite applause from many home fans (in addition to the YGGYFHKI chant). You hardly ever get that today.
I first heard "that" chant at the FA Cup QF at Old Trafford in 1972. Stoke must have had around 10,000 that day, but at that time Man Utd was not a pleasant place to go, so there was no mob so far as I remember. The Stretford End (they also had a splinter mob - probably the first example of the phenomenon - in the Scoreboard) was packed fully 40 minutes ahead of kick-off, and was belting out that slightly chilling song.
I like the kit too, altho the black and white version is better.

Fantastic stuff, I wasn't there, although I did go to quite a few away games that season.
There is something iconic about the "You're gonna get your f*ckin heads kicked in" chant isn't there ? A football chant frozen in time like James Dean.

Think we wore the yellow one in the classic game away at Liverpool when we lost ? It was a brilliant kit though, I had the white red and black version, loved it.

Look at Hudson's scooped pass at the beginning. I'll say it again.....he was the best midfielder of his generation for a while!

Great cross from Jackie Marsh for the first Top strike from Josh for the second ....and watching Hudson just gives me goosebumps.....I think you can count on one hand the amount of misplaced passes from him in that first period he played for Stoke. He should have got 100 England caps.....what a waste

I was in the scoreboard end that day, every time a scuffle broke out the Stretford End belted out "come on scoreboard" It was a scary place to be! Great memory from the clip I remember the game but did not travel to it
