I saw this happen, while they both scuffled away me and lots of others pushed our cars in front of them and got off the carpark quicker thus defeating the object of their original argument.

I can understand the frustration ! Folk have no regard for anyone else , I had a guy on a motorbike mount the pavement without looking to skip the barriers to get off on sat , inches away from my daughter ... I would of twatted him if he'd hit her !

Mr Prince looks like a brain dead numpty anyway. Obviously the sort that hasn't got the intelligence to "talk" a situation to a satisfactory conclusion so resorts to violence. Bet your bottom dollar he got out of his car after seeing that the victim was probably not as "arrrddd" as him and laid into him for self gratification.
Looking at him by his picture I would have happily kicked his arse up and down SSMW all afternoon for fun if he had fronted me up, of course, after trying the diplomatic route first to sort out our differences.
Wonder what job he has at JCB??? I can't imagine its Chief Mechanical Designer!

That car park used to spoil the matchday experience for me but circumstances meant I changed to the Mich this year.
I dont miss the South Car Park a bit.
No excuse but I can understand how this sort of thing happens

mickstupp - true ! It is a complete free for all, which really - should have stewards sorting the queue out to get out of the two main exits leading onto Stanley Matthews way. They're there when we arrive waving us in - so why they cant be there to stop oncoming traffic and let a few cars out, i dont know. It takes us around 45 minutes to get home from after the match, but only as we park as close as possible to the exit and actually get in the line and not try to barge in right by the gate. Still, no excuse to get out of your motor and punch someone 4 times over it Couldnt agree more also would be good if the police did something contructive when nothing going on like help the traffic. Also after the shite match that coach near the exit at the bottom, jesus that dove us nutts what a place to park it .

I know the lad in question and there was a lot more to the incident than was reported. I won't say anything more as it's not my business to put it on a public message board but it the whole affair has had a very real effect on him.
Joebananas - grow up youth.

If I saw someone smack someone else, I'd be quite happy to report them to the police. Does that make me a grass? How old are you, 12? As for the south carpark...if you find it to be a ball ache, why not just park somewhere else. We park a 20 minute walk from the ground and are on our way minutes after getting in the car, no traffic, no hassle.

Its about time the club, council and police did something about the unacceptqable situation on the South Car Park. Between them their must be a better solution than the current one. Many people leave early to avoid the worst of the hassle which is not in the best interests of the team. As stated by others many teams have temperory traffic schemes in place. I dont believe for one moment that any of the firms located on SMW would consider leaving if the road was made one-way (as it was in our Championship days). If their is a legal impediment to that somebody, somewhere needs a bollocking for agreeing it. Surely if the stewards are required before the match they are needed after as well. Plus we were told a couple of seasons ago that cars would be prevented from turning right. This is rarely enforced. Their are many people, including my elderly father who do not wish to walk long distances to attend the match. It is a poor state of affairs indeed when a Premier Leagues Main supporter car park is rendered unusable to all but the quick and aggressive.

If it was me mouthing off then I came worse off in a punch up I'd get back in my car and drive off! But cus some clown as come worse off after giving it the Billy big bollocks he's ran to the police! Pathetic! And as for the witnesses my god have try got nothing better be doing!

What a fucked up load of shit you're talking. It's not about being a 'grass' it's about having a bit of decency to report an illegal incident. I honestly don't know where you're coming from on this unless you're on a wind up. In which case, you've got me.

Clyde, I wasn't there and I doubt you were. But where is the evidence that this was two people who both wanted to fight? If I saw two people of similar age/size having a fight which appeared to suit them both, I'd walk away. If, on the other hand I saw someone punching or attacking someone who didn't appear to be up for a fight I'd happily be a witness. Otherwise we are saying its ok for anyone to beat up anyone for any reason and that isn't the sort of society I want to be part of. In most road rage incidents like this there is a guilty party and I have no problem in helping the police to prosecute them. Sorry if this offends your personal "code of honour".

the legal position with the one way system changed when the flyover was opened from the A50. It was always within the planning permission that once access could be gained from the eastbound carriageway of the A50 then Stanley Matthews way would become two way traffic 24 hours per day 7 days per week. Prior to that it SMW was not technically a public road and therefore restrictions and access were different. The club could of course apply for special arrangements on match days - like when you can close the road for a parade or the marathon etc. but this would likely be appealed by the businesses on Stanley Matthews way - particularly the logistics firms who want 24 hour access for the wagons working in shifts. The answer is of course that for the hour or so required after tge match that the police actually take charge of the situation and use some common sense to direct traffic, clear bottlenecks etc. They can temporarily close the A500 to let the away coaches off but don't seem willing to do an hour's traffic duty to spare a lot of frustration and needless bad feeling. Crowds of 28000 do no police themselves - a bit of common sense, leadership and responsibility would solve an awful lot of anger.

I actually agree with you lakeland! and your right, i dont know the whole story, as dont most on here but theyre quick to have a go at this lad for hitting someone! reading the sentinel it said their were verbals thrown at each other etc, then it seems like both got out their cars! so if thats right then theyve both got out with the intentions of having a tear up! seems to me mr prince as got the better of the other chap who as then ran to the police because his actions have not matched up to his verbals. As ive said i wasnt their so cant be sure although im very rarely wrong! however theirs a lot on here who are having a go at mr prince when them too dont know the full story!
oh and pineapple............. your a grass
