For my fortieth birthday year in 2008 I am raising funds for two charities... (plus putting on a charity gig, Bearstock 3, on Sunday Feb 3rd at Brentford FC - more at www.myspace.com/stripesmusic)The total currently stands at £150 raised for the Nordoff-Robbins music therapy charity and thanks to the following bands who have added a link to the fundraising page... UFO, Waysted, Ten Years After, Del Broham & Stray, Vinnie Moore, Dave Burns, the Taz Taylor Band, Lec Zorn, the Heavy Metal Kids and the journalist Dave Ling. Stars one and all! Thanks as well to Bernie Torme & GMT who plugged the website at their recent run of UK gigs. www.justgiving.com/fortynightsand I have chosen the Donna Louise Trust as a local charity to back during 2008 (the total currently stands at £10). The Donna Louise Trust provides a children's hospice service for Staffordshire and South Cheshire incorporating respite and palliative care, both in a hospice setting, and at home, for children who suffer from illnesses which mean they may not reach adulthood. I have chosen this charity as I originally come from the Potteries/Stoke-on-Trent and want to support a local charity during 2008 as part of my fortieth birthday year. Anyone who helps give children a glimmer of joy in their potentially short lives is worthy of support in my book. www.justgiving.com/classicrocknewswireYou can help please by plugging these links and if you have any spare money all donations gratefully received Thanks for reading & best wishes to you all, Jason R stokieboy.blogspot.com/
