When I got my first ST way back in 19...ahem you used to be able to buy the ticket with an OPTION of redeemable cup vouchers that would be applicable for any cup game League or FA Cup. any unused ones were taken off next years ticket as I recall.
Keeps renewals high, saved queuing before 'tinternet and meant the club got the money either way

I remember going on a tour of the stadium, must of been 6/7 years ago. They took us to John Smiths Upper and told us if we were to ever get to the prem, we would fill in the corners, taking us to over 32,000. Then, if we ever got to Europe ( the thought of which had everyone in stitches at the time i seem to remember ), we would build a second tier on the rest of the stadium to take us up to near 50,000 ... Am pretty sure they just made the script up, thinking we'd never achieve any of that ;D

dunno where that stat for season ticket holders has come from, almost every season ticket holder near my seat was there #justsaying A lot of ST holders near me were NOT in their normal seats - but many of them were elsewhere with mates. I suspect the real stat is that only half the ST holders sat in their normal seats.

I've got a mate who works down at the ground for the community programme and he 'reckons there's well over 50'000 people on the ticket database. As ever with this area, it's just the money issue.

When we have extra fans in the South Stand because of the away fans cannot sellout, we do normally do sell out the extra seats and I suggest that the ground will look alot better with the corners filled in.

Just when you thought we had put this debate on a hold for a bit, tony brings it back up. My take is we should fill one corner in and see how it goes whilst we are a club seemingly on the rise. We can always do discount tickets or give them to schools if we don't sell them.

For the past 2 seasons i havent had a season ticket. Up to my Son being born in 2008 i'd had a season ticket for nearly 20 years.
But since my boy was born it just gets a lot harder to afford. My daughter came to the split home game with me and is hooked and wants to go all the time now but trying to pick and choose our games is hard work as you can never get tickets. Next season we will both get a season ticket for the family stand and i think IF the club decided to fill in at least 1 corner it would sell out.
Theres loads of ways to do it, kids for a quid has always been a winner so all in all i think it would be a good idea. As with anything now though its down to money, not just to build the corner but also to all the fans who want to sit in it when its built.

The fact they put a lot of peoples on just 1 season ticket could be the reason. I know when I went we had 4 tickets and they were all on 1 season ticket holders name.

nearly 22,000 season ticket holders according to scholes in the programme. Its going to be very difficult for people to get ahold of matchday tickets now as they isn't going to be many available

the perception (& often the reality) of not getting 2 seats together for the fan who wants/needs to pick their games is also a big factor Definitely reality, my Dad and my Son had season tickets in the family area last season, I can't always go because of work so didn't have one. I don't think we were able to sit together more than about once or twice all season, all managed to get Wembley tickets both times but again not able to sit together. Needless to say this season I've had a ST. Will miss quite a few games but always know someone who wants to go.

Maybe TP is getting ahead of himself and the excitement the new signings will create ?

it is indeed misleading, we generally had different seats for the early games in the cup
