I like the bloke and think he'll be an integral part of the squad this season, away/Euro games especially.
But I'd worry if he started home league games, especially if we bring in WP.

WP comes in and i'd prefer see a whelan/Palacios partnership Euro and cup games deno is going be a much needed player I'd like to see this partnership given a go, and Delap, Wilson and Whitehead challenging and playing in the cups, Europe, etc. If Delap isn't starting every game (and it appears he doesn't expect to), he HAS to be on the bench. Whitehead tries his socks off, bless him, and he certainly gives us energy and enthusiasm. |

I rated him from the start, always broke up play, always started us going and was always the one who would race from box to box, if it wasn't for pulis giving shawcross the armband to boost his england hopes (imo thats why anyway) i reckon whitehead would have it by now

Hopefully TP will be planning on giving him the same amount of minutes he afforded Whitehead last season at home to Chelsea.

He'll be useful for Europa and Cup games, but if we do sign 1 (or possibly 2 CMs) then he'll be contesting with Whelan, Delap, New Signing(s) and possibly Wilson. Can't see him getting too much Prem time with them in contention. |

His qualities lie very much off the ball rather than on it. "Does a job" but isn't better than Delap or Whelan and while he wasn't playing badly, our performances last season improved immeasurably (is that better than 'infinitely' para?) when he was dropped.
