i was watching a programme last night about them and realised how much i miss their show, used to be the highlight of christmas day viewing. the only thing that has come close in recent years is only fools on xmas day. the whole christmas day telly programming has gone to pot now.
eric made me laugh so much, he had great comedy timing,a true legend in my opinion.

Yes indeed they were marvellous. When Eric said to Andre Previn. "I'm playing the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!" BRILLIANT!! ;D

It's comedic genius, and what's more everyone found it funny. When you see soem of the abortions that count for comedy these days, it's makes you even more nostalgic

There was some crap in those days too though. Arther sodding Askey for example.

Joe,
I take it "Tittybangbang" hasn't made it that far south yet then? Dear God, it makes Askey look like John Cleese.
What's the comedy like in Oz? Have to confess to quite liking Kath & Kim, is it all up to that sort of standard? Little Britain is big as well isn't it?

British comedies are massively popular here. Little Britain toured and announced one date in Brisbane and ended up doing eight! The classics are the favourites. Fawlty Towers Two Ronnies etc.
Australian comedy can be hit and miss BUT there's a man named Chris Lilley who did a mockumentary series about the Australian of the year award called We Can Be Heroes and that was really great. He followed it up this year with another mockumentary series set in a school called Summer Heights High and thats also really great. Not sure if the humour will translate though. If you ever see them tell me what you think.

The bit with Andre Previn was indeed genius.
"Something up with the violins?" ;D
I turned over after that had finished and found a modern day 'comedy'. How Two Pints Of Lager... made it onto the BBC i will never know.
I'd prefer to watch highlights and repeats of Morcambe And Wise over the whole series of Two Pints Of Lager.... any day.

Two pints of lager and a packet of crisps is unbelievable. Never thought I'd find anything less funny than Birds of a Feather.

Fucking Hell Joe.
Two Pints is one of the "funnier*" efforts on BBC3. Tittybangbang, Jocelyn Brown, Katy Brand's Big Ass show are all tremendously fucking worse. British comedy is going through a wank phase right now.
* In the respect that it doesn't make you want to cut your ears off

Christmas TV has been dead for sometime now, there used to be some cracking gameshows, sketches and specials.
The only one i can say i'm looking forward to at the minute is the Extra's Christmas special.

When is the Extras special on? Isn't it the final one to conclude it all? It could be a case of please record and send it to me!

Thanks for the link - hilarious!
My 10 year old daughter, however, kept saying "when does it get funny?"
